Finding a Godly Man Your Thoughts

Finding a Godly WomanWait on God

Read Genesis 2:18-22. God sees that it is not good for you to be alone. God will make an help meet or one suitable for you. Eve was in the mind of God long before she was placed in Adam’s arms. Adam slept in God’s will. He waited patiently and God brought Eve to him. Guys like to pursue any girl who shows interest. Slow down, pray about it, and wait upon God. The person you marry can either help or hinder your walk with God. Read the book of Ruth and notice how God brought Boaz and Ruth together. Also notice how Boaz treated Ruth.

Watch for these Qualities Read Proverbs 31:10-31. These are qualities of a good godly woman. You can trust her and she has your best interest at heart. She is a hard worker, not lazy looking for handouts. She takes care of the home not allowing her career to take precedent over her home and family. She is wise, discerning, confident, giving, and serves others. Most importantly, she fears God. These are qualities you should look for in a young woman you are pursuing.

Win Her with Servant Love Read Ephesians 5:25. Make this your life verse for marriage. Think about what this verse calls upon the man to do. The man is to serve the woman, not the woman the man. The man is to sacrifice all for his wife. Men are to love, cherish, protect, serve, giving all for their wives. Think and meditate upon this and put it into practice while dating. Remember you will attract what you are! If everything has to be about you and you are selfish, self-centered, dirty, and lazy chances are this is what you will attract.

Who is God to You? Read John 4:5-42. Most of us have heard about the Samaritan woman. She had five husbands and at the time of meeting Jesus she was living with a man out of wedlock. Have you ever stopped to think that this woman did not know how to look for a godly husband and that is how she allowed herself to travel this path? After she meets Jesus and accepts Him as her Savior, she now has His guidance. You will not truly be successful in finding a godly man and having a godly household if He is not your Savior.

Who Are You Looking For? Read Proverbs 12:1-22. God is letting you know to look for a man that is teachable. He must be focused on God, kind, a hard worker, and trust worthy. Who he is now is who he will be as a husband. You should be praying for your future husband, not only that God will reveal who he is to you, but that he is allowing God to do a work in his life and that he is preparing himself for you.

Who is God to Him? Read II Timothy 2:4-10. Has he accepted Christ as his Savior? We can never know if someone is truly saved, but is there evidence that he is? Is he concerned and invested in your relationship with Christ? Does he read his Bible and go to church? Him telling you that once you get married his priorities will change is more than likely a lie he doesn’t even realize he is telling. What is important to him is what he is investing all his time into now. That rarely changes and you CANNOT change him.
