Under this stream, the participants will be exposed to the introduction of banking products, transactional banking, trade �nance, treasury operations, fraud management, self-service terminals, best practices of risk management, credit lending process, Money Market Bourse Game, Management Game and Foreign Exchange Simulation Game.
The training is very much focused on the core functions of investment banking such as corporate �nance, stock broking, debt capital markets, derivatives markets, stock evaluation, fund management and �nancial risk analysis for businesses. Similar to other streams, risk management, Money Market Bourse Game, Management Game and Foreign Exchange Simulation Game are also be included in this stream.
This stream emphasizes on Shariah compliance on all its product and services. The coverage under this stream includes the introduction of banking products, transactional banking, trade �nance, treasury operations, fraud management, self-service terminals, best practices of risk management, credit �nancing process, term deposits, Money Market Bourse Game, Management Game and Foreign Exchange Simulation Game.
This stream introduces the basic principles of insurance/takaful process and models. It also provides an insight into the business processes such as underwriting, claims and investment. Other pertinent topics such as risk management, reinsurance/retakaful, policy servicing for life/family takaful would also be given equal importance under this stream. It also incorporates Money Market Bourse Game, Management Game and Foreign Exchange Simulation Game to make the programme more comprehensive.

FSTEP provides an intensive one year training programme with a minimum monthly allowance of RM 2,200 to the participants, covering the following four streams:

Face-to-face interview by representatives of Sponsoring Financial Institution and FSTEP
Successful candidate to receive O�er Letter by the Sponsoring Financial Institution

FSTEP graduates performed distinctly better and met the needs of the employers.
The employers prefer FSTEP graduates as compared to the graduates directly recruited by the �nancial institutions.
FSTEP programme is e�ective in preparing entry level executives for their career lives in the �nancial services industry by inculcating good working attitudes, behaviour and related soft skills.
The employers have agreed UNANIMOUSLY that they are satis�ed with FSTEP graduates as none of the employers has indicated otherwise from the survey.
Extract from FSTEP Industry Survey
A study was commissioned by Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) in 2012 to assess the performance of its graduates from 2009 to 2012 at their work places as compared to graduates who were directly recruited by the respective �nancial institutions. The questionnaire survey was designed and processed independently by two senior lecturers from a university.
From the �ndings, it is concluded that :

Frequently Asked Questions
To be eligible to apply for FSTEP training programme, an applicant must complete his/her undergraduate education and obtain the �nal academic results before the commencement of the programme.
An undergraduate who has completed his/her academic studies but at the time of application is still undergoing industrial training (during the last semester) as part of his/her requirements for graduation purposes is also eligible to apply. However, he/she should have completed the industrial training and obtained the results of the industrial training when FSTEP commences.
1. I am currently in my �nal year at university? Am I eligible to apply for FSTEP training programme?
FSTEP is a full time one year intensive training programme. Participants are required to attend training sessions from 9am-5pm during the weekdays.
2. Is FSTEP training programme a full time or part time programme?
A participant may be absorbed as a permanent employee with the sponsoring �nancial institution.3. What happens after the one year intensive training programme?
A participant will receive a minimum allowance of RM 2,200 per month. The sponsoring �nancial institution has the prerogative to give a higher allowance based on any additional quali�cations/experience.
5. I have a PhD, will I be paid more than RM 2,200 per month?
FSTEP o�ce is located only in Kuala Lumpur. 6. I am from Penang. Can I attend the programme in Penang?
Generally, a participant will be bonded throughout the one year training programme plus another additional year of working. A participant who withdraws during the training programme will be required to reimburse a sum of money to the sponsoring �nancial institution as stated in the contract signed by the participant with the sponsoring �nancial institution.
7. Do I have to sign a bond? If yes, how long?
FSTEP does not charge any fees. In fact, upon joining FSTEP, participants will be paid a minimum allowance of RM 2,200 per month by the sponsoring �nancial institutions.
