Welcome

Dear Candidate Thank you for your interest in the role of Finance Director at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT). This is an immensely exciting time for PAHT as we continue our modernisation programme, our journey to Outstanding and as we build a brand new hospital for the local population. Suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and commercially astute strategic leader, this is a unique opportunity to fulfil a significant and high profile leadership role In October 2019, the Government announced that we are to receive funding to build a new hospital for our patients,

community and people. We are completing the business case process for this amazing opportunity and expect to open a new

hospital in 2025. You will work closely with colleagues across our trust and system partners to drive forwards our ambitious agenda. Proactive, positive and enthusiastic, you will deliver improvements in finance and procurement on our journey to a new hospital. You will champion best practice in financial management, encouraging an inclusive culture that supports our people to focus on continuous improvement and embracing innovation in the way we deliver corporate services. Our people have energy, passion and commitment to improving the care and experiences provided to our patients, and our drive to be an Outstanding organisation. Consequently, it is crucial that we are on a sound financial footing to support, deliver and empower the changes that we need to make. Our new Finance Director will be a member of the executive team and will be a voting member of our Trust Board. You will be a qualified accountant with experience of managing change, as well as a range of technical disciplines including financial strategy and capital investment. You will need to be a compassionate and inclusive leader who will inspire our people and be prepared to challenge the status quo in everything you see and do. We actively encourage interest and applications from candidates from a wide range of

backgrounds, and particularly those from underrepresented and minority backgrounds, in

order to ensure we are reflective of the rich diversity of the communities we serve.

Join us, lead our financial improvements and help us to make a difference in all that we do. If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact our recruitment partners at Harvey Nash Alumni.
