Welcome to the Finance Career Days 2015!

Let me start by sharing with you some good news: This is our biggest Finance Career Days ever! Between September 17th and 18th EDHEC Business School hosts

on the Nice campus:

42 companies, 50% of them international and 76% representing financial services, Almost 800 first year, gap year, and final year finance students,

16 alumni taking part in 9 company-sponsored Alumni Spotlights, A finance fair with 32 corporate stands, plus

A total of 45 activities, including company presentations, skills sessions, and networking events!

During these two days, the EDHEC Career Centre will have accomplished one of its objectives: that of bringing companies and students together so they can get to know each other, understand their mutual needs, and learn

about career dreams and competitive selection processes… And all this, within an event that can be customized to meet the requirements and expectations of recruiters and candidates by offering different levels of formal and

informal exchange.

We could not host the Finance Career Days without the trust and support of our corporate partners and recruiters. We are proud and honoured by your presence, which drives us to continuously improve not only our services but

most importantly the way we prepare our students for the employment market. In the name of the entire EDHEC Business School community: thank you!

The Career Centre’s goal is to provide students and recruiters the most complete meeting platform where all parties can exchange at the group and individual level based on their objectives and interests. The Finance Career Day is therefore a complex event offering in parallel presentations, training and networking sessions, as well as a career fair in the 3

buildings on the Nice campus.

PLAN YOUR DAYPrepare your plan for the day in advance: What are your interests? Which are your priorities? What time do you have left?

• Get ready before the event by selecting your priorities, reading the necessary material, and preparing your pitch, questions and CVs well before the Finance Career Day.

• Make your personal calendar for the day, including the presentations that you want to go to (by registration only) and your list of target companies and contacts.

• Look at the schedule and plan included in this book and identify where your target companies / events are located.• Don’t waste time queuing: visit other stands, talk to other companies and then come back. This will allow you to make the best use of your

day.• Arrive 5 minutes before your selected events so you can check in and get your place. Latecomers will not be able to join once the event

has started.

EXPLORE NEW CAREERS AND OPPORTUNITIESWe are always telling you how important it is to focus and make choices, but we also insist on your keeping open to exciting careers you may not have thought of (yet).

Take the time to meet with alumni and recruiters from companies and functions that are normally off your radar.Visit the stands of all companies to find out which “hidden” jobs they may have that are aligned with your goals: Real estate management in a retail chain? Trading commodities? Project financing in a large multinational? Or maybe a marketing job in a top tier bank? While these opportunities may not seem evident given the core business of a company, every year students find their dream jobs in the expected and most unexpected places.
