This is my final drawing of the flats. At first, I thought of having each flat divided into two across the centre using a slim plank of wood almost like a skirting board, painted white, and painting the top half of the flat red and the bottom white. This was purely for aesthetic reasons as the contrast between the colours looked good. However, when I created a small prototype to test this idea it look longer than expected and was quite messy and complicated to measure out the markings. Because of this, I decided to instead paint the entirety of the flats bright red and then add white LX tape around the edges to create a sporty look whist including the main colour scheme of the show – red FINAL SKETCH 1.9m 1.22m

This is my final drawing of the flats. At first, I thought of having each flat divided into two across the centre using a slim plank of wood almost like a skirting

board, painted white, and painting the top half of the flat red and the bottom white. This was purely for aesthetic reasons as the contrast between the colours looked good. However, when I created a small prototype to test this idea it look longer than expected and was quite messy and complicated to measure out the

markings. Because of this, I decided to instead paint the entirety of the flats bright red and then add white LX tape around the edges to create a sporty look

whist including the main colour scheme of the show – red and white.

This is the finished product. As you can see, there are more than three flats across the back like my design specifies. This is because the staging is longer

than I anticipated when I drew my sketch, so we added 4 more flats to fit the size of the staging correctly. As there are different levels of staging, the flats form a

symmetrical pattern which looks aesthetically pleasing. It was very important that continuity ran throughout the set so that it looked as professional and realistic as

possible.
