Ancient City. Zhujiajiao. China

Zhujiajiao - an ancient water town, located in Shanghai. It was established about 1,700 years ago. Archaeological findings dating back 5,000 years have also been found. 36 stone bridges and numerous rivers line and many ancient buildings still line the riverbanks today.

Production of Zhujiajiao was mainly focused on the production of rice and cloth. Today, old historical buildings such as rice shops, banks, spice stores and even a Qing dynasty post office can still be found.

Development of the city for those times is startling. The city had an excellent transport system. There was water ways for boats. Developed production, cultural and religious places such as Ke Zhi Yuan (Course Plant Garden) It located in the northern part of town. It consists of three parts, including a hall area, an artificial hill area and a garden area. In the artificial hill area, there is magnificent symbolic architecture - a foursquare five-story building, on the top of which stands a diametric pavilion named 'Moon View Pavilion.

The city was able to survive untill our time. It was able to sustain by itself. What can I use to future city?

Present City. Venice, Italy

Venice was built on the lagoon of 122 islands (according to other sources - 118), connected by 400 bridges. This is a city-monument founded approximately in V. BC. e.

Most Venetian streets channels so narrow that the walls of the houses opposite can easily be reached by arms, while the buildings themselves usually consist of 7 floors. Сanals almost do not have shores, it looks like houses "grow" out of the water. Foundation of the city: Spile + special soil composition. In the first phase of construction was established dam, which delimit the space of land and water, only then hammered piles treated with special resins. Production of Venice had been focused on textile industry glass and beads (starting from the 13th century). Venice is rather a historical and cultural tourist center, namely tourism and resort business of its residents provide their welfare

Future City. The City from movie Fifth (XXIII)

In this film the city is the personification of development of all mankind. Scientific progress is widely used in everyday life of mankind. The apartments are equipped so that in smal space, people have everything for everyday needs. ( On the picture, behind an actor can be seen the shelves that was built into the wall. Also, there is a sliding door that retracts into the wall, thereby saving space inside and outside the apartment). Flat is thought to the smallest detail. There is a flat management system (Nomination beds and additional shelves inside the wall)

The City from movie Fifth Element has:- It has modern design of the buildings - It has some green space om buildings itself - There are mostly high-rise buildings - The most of transportation is above ground - The apartments are equipped so that in smal space, people have

The City is concentrating on using scientific advances in human life

What can I use for future city ?- If I need to accomodate more people and have more space , it is better

to build high-rise houses- Also I can use air as the way of transportation and security- The apartments need to be used new technologies to have more space

7. MDomeThe background of the city is that reactor of nuclear power station was completely destroyed, and the environment has been thrownout a large amount of radioactive substances. The "X" city is no longer suitable for living . The mayor of this city need to find a way out of the situation, and he solved problem...built new city – MDome.

The City is located on the water, so as humanity is currently experiencing a shortage of space on the ground, while the space of water is not fully used.

The name of the city is MDome. ( M – matryoshka)I was inspired by russian matryoshka. Matryoshka ussaly consist of 7 dolls that are arranged one within another. It symbolizes mother of many children ( She will hide them, in case of dangerous) This is the reason to put one doll inside another.

Since the main aim of the city was save people from danger, design fully conveys this goal.

The city consist of 5 levels. Each level connected with one another with help of lifts and stairs.

The city’s concept:

Level 1 ( Metro) + water providing system
