Dear All, As you may or may not know, the Chester Nomads AFC’s Annual Christmas Day Auction is one of 4 or 5 annual events which help to raise much needed funds for the general day-to-day running of the club. Traditionally, it provides an opportunity to catch up with friends and family, exchange gifts and, perhaps most importantly, buy a few ‘bonus gifts’ for your nearest and dearest, often to replace the ones which didn’t go down quite as well as anticipated!! Understandably, though, not everyone can make it to the club on the day so the purpose of this Pre-Auction Guide is to provide some information about the lots available and offer those people unable to attend the event an opportunity to get involved with the bidding process. Accordingly, should you wish to place a bid on any of the lots listed then please contact either Mark Powell (Powelly) or Steve Smith (Smigger), using the information provided below, providing details of your name, the item(s) on which you wish to place your bid(s) and the amount(s) you wish to bid. Please note, whilst ‘distant bids’ can effectively be received up until approx. 12 noon on Christmas Day, it would be appreciated if they were placed in advance. Thanks as always go to all those who have donated lots, without which it would be something of a non-event, and thanks in advance go to those of you who ‘get involved’ with the bidding!!

Prosecco is a sparkling white wine from north-eastern Italy, specifically the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine regions. It is also the informal name for the grape variety used to make these wines, which is known officially as Glera. Glera is a long-standing synonym of northern Italy's Prosecco grape, and the name by which it is now officially known. This green-skinned variety has been grown for hundreds of years in the Veneto and Friuli regions, most famously to produce sparkling Prosecco wines.

Winning! tells the story of the remarkable past six years - an unforgettable journey that began in September 1997 and took the team from the lower ranks of international first-class rugby to the top as World Cup Champions.

Sir Clive Woodward and his team mounted a campaign of vast change, great learning, team building and clear vision to achieve their aim. 'We would question everything, change anything and leave no stone unturned,' he writes. WINNING! will talk about the team's journey of innovation and discovery and will reveal exactly how it happened, the fundamentals of their success and how these principles can be applied to any human endeavour. 'We changed the way we coached, the way we played and, of equal importance, how we operated off the field.' Bringing his business management skills to the game, Woodward simplified the entire approach to the structure of the team and created new management systems both on and off the pitch. In an anecdotal style, Clive Woodward entertains and informs while he describes the thrilling build-up to England's World Cup triumph.
