Placements 2013-14 : An Overview

IICT Bhadohi conducted the final placement process for the 10th Batch “ Classof 2014” between October 2013 to May 2014. Despite tough economicconditions, the industry’s response during the placement season reinforcedIICT’s continuous emphasis on academic excellence. A total of 20 companiesparticipated in the final placement process with roles spanning acrossSpinning, Carpets, Dyeing, Testing, Merchandising & General Management.

Students were offered diverse roles across sectors & multifaceted roles as welllike Shift Officer, Manager, Jr. Merchandiser, Lab Technician, etc. Thediligent efforts towards building a long term strong industry academiainterface has resulted in exclusive hiring from IICT Bhadohi.

Placement DomainsYarn Manufacturing: The field in which India is a global leader also saw the maximum number of placements. Students were offered roles of Shift Officers across industries. Cotton spinning was the most favoured sub-domain. The highest salary packages were also offered in this domain. The major recruiters were Trident, Vardhman, Nahar Group & Threads India.

Carpets: The major recruiters in this field were, OBEETEE, Jaipur Rugs, Tulsiram Rugs, Agni Carpets, ABC Carpets, & Chinar Carpets & Welspun. Managerial & Merchandising roles were offered.

Processing: The major recruiters for placements in Dyeing & Printing were Welspun, Alps Industries & Vardhman

Technical Textiles & Garments: For the first time this additional avenue was included in the placement scenario. The major recruiters were, Tarasafe & Alok Industries.

Weaving & Testing: There were some openings for IICT in these fields too. The main players were Vardhman & Bureau Veritas.

This was the premier most company campusing at the Placements 2014. It offered a technical portfolio of ‘Playing Captain’ position & selected one student after a rigorous aptitude, psychometric & personal interview test.

Salary Package: 9 lac per annum CTC.Bond: 1 yearTraining Period: 6 months.Joining location: Trident, Barnala-Cotton

Spinning

Company wise Placement DetailsThe textile company having one of the best work culture. The students of IICT proved their mettle here. Vardhman offered 3 preplacement offers to its 3 trainees on the basis of their summer training performance.

Salary Package: 3 lac CTC as trainee, 3.5 lac upon confirmation.Training Period: 12 months.Joining locations: Auro Spinning & Auro Weaving, Baddi (HP) , VYTL ST-2, Ludhiana (Pb).

OBEETEE one of the most premier Carpet Brand in India, once again showed confidence in IICT. Post an aptitude test & interview 3 students were selected.

Salary Package: 2.4 lac CTC as trainee, 3.3 lac upon confirmation.Training Period: 6 months.Joining location: OBEETEE, Bhadohi


Salary Package: 2.1 lac CTC plus medical benefits..Training Period: 3 months.Joining location: Welspun, Vapi

This premier textile conglomerate of India conducted its recruitment drive at the IICT campus. After an aptitude test & personal interview procedure spanning over 2 days it selected two students; one for carpet printing & the other for carpet manufacturing department.


Salary Package: 2.4 lac CTC.Training Period: 6 months.Joining location: Tarasafe, Ahmedabad

The first technical textile company to campus at IICT. It manufactures a wide range of protective textiles. 2 students were selected after telephonic interview rounds for fabric sourcing departments.


Salary Package: Rs. 4500-Rs. 12000 per month as stipend & then 2.16 lac CTC upon confirmation.Training Period: 12 months.Joining location: Alok Industries, Vapi.

This leading player in garment manufacturing conducted a mass recruitment drive at PIET Panipat. After an aptitude test & interview 2 students were selected as trainees in the garmenting department.


Salary Package: 16000 per month CTC.Training Period: 3 months.Joining location: Alps Industries, Meerut.

This reputed composite textile industry conducted interviews by a mass recruitment drive at GCTI Kanpur. After an aptitude test & interview 2 students were selected as Shift Officers in Wet processing.

Salary Package: 18000 per month CTC.Training Period: 6 months.Bond: 2 years.Joining locations: Agni Carpets, Bhadohi.

One of the most renowned carpet company globally, it conducted its campus interviews at IICT & selected 2 students for merchandising & marketing roles.


Salary Package: 15000 per month CTC.Training Period: 3 months.Joining locations: TIL, Kanpur.

This leading manufacturer of sewing threads, it conducted its campus interviews at its premises & selected 2 students for quality control & production departments.


Salary Package: Rs. 11000 + fooding + lodging + PFTraining Period: 6 months.Joining location: Digjam, Jamnagar.

A brand that has been a home name with regards to Indian textiles, Digjam conducted its campus interviews at its premises in Jamnagar & selected 1 student for its Designing department.


Salary Package: 15000 per month CTC + Phone bills + PF + Lodging.Training Period: 6 months.Bond: 2 years.Joining locations: Tulsiram, Bhadohi.
