WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF ACADEMIC STUDY AND HOW CAN THEY BE ACHIEVED

One of the important goals in ones life is academic success in educational life. It is also one of the

basic factors of contributing towards the development of a society. It trains the student in their

subjects and makes them more ready to start their practical life. In addition the education system

and concepts of traditional culture are different in many countries and therefore, this can also affect

students success. In this essay we will talk about the objectives of academic study and the different

ways within the institutions to achieve them.

The objectives of academic study can be related to different prospects. One of the main aims is for

someone to secure a well-paid job. On the other hand someone may find it interesting to learn more

in depth about different subjects. Some students take an interest in academic study, because they

want to enjoy learning and improve their personal development. Academic students meet different

people from other countries and learn about their cultural values. This can help the student become

a part of the community and exchange the ideas, which promote the mind to develop further.

The important aspect for students is to improve and develop different skills, which can be helpful to

achieve their academic success. By developing these characteristics, students can be more aware of

their strength and weakness in a particular subject and find out how they can improve their abilities

in the future. To achieve these aims it is important to use logical approach to overcome the problem

areas.

Another way to achieve academic study objectives is through the accessibility of resources such as

computers, laboratories, textbooks and student motivation. Study without these necessary

resources is very difficult for a student to achieve academic success or they could lose their interest

altogether.

Although, according to the Slaght. J, P. Harben and A. Pallant(2010) researcher are still arguing about

the effect of class size in the performance of student over a period of their educational life. But to

achieve academic objectives research has shown that in small class size students performance was

better. However, this is a fact that fewer students in the classroom can communicate effectively

with their teachers and have other benefits such as less noise in the class and greater individual

attention. And a close interaction can encourage more discussions in class, which can be helpful to

motivate students to increase their academic performance.

Aims and objective of the academic study can be archived through the power of self-reflection. It is

vital to understand the importance of actually knowing the subject in depth. This can be the main

aspect to achieve academic success. A person not only can achieve successful future through

academic achievements, but also receive the best education, which can help him/her to become

responsible citizen and active member of the society.
