Invisible Heroes• Device wraps the wrist.

• There is a touching part which provides to feel each other(parent-newcomer) through the mechanism.

• There are lots of pins which gets in and gets out easily.

• Each process has an unique symbol.

• Yeni girişli kolundaki mekanizmayı sembole tuttugunda, ebeveyninin kolundaki mekanizmada da aynı sembol belirecek. Bunlar da iğnelerin içeri girip çıkması yoluyla sağlanacak.

• However, the parent couldn’t reach his/her child through the mechanism with the touching part.

• When the newcomer touches to the touching part, the parent’s device will vibrate.

How & Where?•Student CenterHomes of the families’ of newcomersWe give them the mechanism with a brief explanation and make them to try it. Then they answer the question guide.

Feedback Goals

• Is our mechanism understable?

• Is it working well?

• Is it comfortable to use?

• Is it making the process easier?

Question Guide1. Did you find the mechanism useful?

2. Did you find it comfortable and was it easy to use?

3. What do you think about it- is it useful for the process?

4. If you were the one designing the mechanism, what would you change or add to it?

5. Would you want it to be in your registration process? (will only be asked to the students who are not newcomers.)

Page 7: Final Edition

6. Did you like the touching part of the mechanism?

7. Did you find the symbols of the mechanism, which symbolizes each part of the process, understandable?

8. Did you like the symbols or would something abstract be better?

Deniz Bensusan

1) Yes.

2) It doesn’t seem too comfortable but it seems easy to use.

3) It may be useful for the process.

4) I would make it lighter.

5) Yes, I think it is well-thought.

6)Seems very understandable.

7)I think an abstract device would be hard to understand and use.

Roksan Bensusan

1)I don’t find it necessary.

2)I think it is hard to carry something like that on your wrist but it seems easy to use.

3)I don’t find it necessary, I want to be inside of the registration location.

4)I would do something like a microchip.

5)Despite the fact that I don’t like the mechanism, I really liked the ‘touching’ part.

7) There is no need for an abstract mechanism.

Roksi Benoroya

1)Yes, definitely.

2)Yes , it seems easy to use.

3) I think that device seems really useful and also exciting, my mother is not going to be with me, but she will be like near to me.

4) I would change the colors.

5) I really liked the ‘touching’ part.

1) I don’t think it is necessary.

2) It seems so uncomfortable and hard to use.

3)I want to be with my child.

4) I wouldn’t design something like that.

5) Touching part is good, well-thought.

Suzi Asa

1. Useful.

2. Not comfortable but easy to use.

3. I think it makes no difference to the process.

4. I would design a device with a screen.

5. ‘Touching’ part is well-thought.

6. Symbols are understandable.

7. It could be but it would necessitate an instruction guide.

Deha Gündüz

1. Yes

2. Comfortable and easy to use.

3. Not too necessary.

4. Sound effect.

5. It would have been better to have a device like that in my registration process.

6. It was good.

7. Could be something else.

8. Could be.

Page 14: Final Edition

İzzet Zakuto

1. Not useful.

2. Not comfortable at all, easy to use but unnecessary.

3. It makes no difference for me.

4. I don’t know.

5. I wouldn’t want.

6. It feels weird.

7. Make it understandable.

8. Could be with an instruction.

Özge Gemalmaz

1. Yes, I found it very useful.

2. I don’t think it is so comfortable but it was easy to use.

3. I think it is so useful for the process.

4. I would add sound.

5. Yes, it may have fastened the process.

6. That was the best part of the mechanism.

7. Symbols was clear enough to understand.

8. It could be an abstract mechanism but it would necessitate a guide.

Feedbacks

• Keep

*People really liked the ‘touching’ part.

*Also they really liked the symbols.

*They found the device understandable so nobody wanted it to be more abstract.

Page 18: Final Edition

Increase

• It should be more comfortable.

*too heavy

*some of the participants suggested ‘sound’.

Page 19: Final Edition

Decrease/Stop

• Shouldn’t be abstract

• We shoud decrease the length of the device to be more lighter.

Page 20: Final Edition

Comparison

• Concept: emotional

• It seems to be worked.

• 6 out of 9 liked the device.

• 3 out of 9 found it unnecessary.

Page 21: Final Edition

How To Improve Our Device

• We need to make it more easy to use.

-its length should be shortened.

-it should be alleviated.

-it should enfold the wrist easily.

-Sound instructions may be added.

Revised/ Final Version of Our Device

Page 23: Final Edition

What Changed?

We talked to 9 people and modified our device according to their feedbacks.

•Its size lessened and binding part shortened to make the usage of our device more comfortable.

•People offered sound system but we didn’t want to include it; because, with sound system, our device would resemble to telephones.

•Also, we colored our device with our participants’ offering.

Page 24: Final Edition

What Remained Same?

• Touch part of the device was liked by most of the participants. So it remained same.

• Also, the symbols remained same but their demonstration form has changed.
