Explore your options in the Criminal Justice and Law program! You’ll be exposed to many aspects of the legal process, from a suspect being questioned, to trial, to incarceration. In the Criminal Investigations unit, you’ll study evidence collection, interview techniques, and proper documentation. Classes incorporate physical fitness training and defensive tactics, and involve numerous guest speakers and field trips.

Year A First-year students survey the field of criminal justice, discussing the history, role, development, philosophy, and Constitutional aspects of the system. They are also introduced to the basic functions of a police o�cer, including o�cer-initiated activity, standard report writing, and standards of proof.

Year B Second-year coursework includes Ethics and Professionalism, which will guide students to understand the culture within the criminal justice system, including communication exercises, scenario-based learning, and physical exercises. A unit on Criminal Minds and Deviant Behavior introduces the student to the phenomena of crime and delinquency, and addresses the role of law enforcement in prevention and control of deviant behavior.
