DryVac vacuum filter press dryers economically pro- cess slurries and create solids cake with a corresponding 30 to 75% reduction in weight and volume. After initial pressure dewatering, water is vaporized from the cake by applying heat and vacuum to the cake while still inside the press. In typical metal hydroxide applications solids are removed and can be dried to 100% dry in about 4 hours. Custom-designed systems are available.
