20th Century Fox

This company was established in 1904 in New York City by William Fox who later went on to form many corporations such as Fox Films (1915) and 20th Century Pictures (1933). These two corporations merged together in 1935 to form 20th Century Fox. Fox was one of the first producers to recognise the trend that audiences were attending film viewings just to see the work of their favourite film star. The studio is most known for Avatar, Star Wars, X-Men, Ice Age, Die Hard, Planet of the Apes, Home Alone and Titanic as well as many others.

Universal

It was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, and Jules Brulatou. It’s headquarters are in California but the company has later expanded to Florida, Japan and Singapore. It is the oldest studio in America and the fourth oldest in the world that is still in production. The studio is most known for Jaws, E.T, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, King Kong, Psycho and Notting Hill as well as many others.

Paramount Pictures

Paramount was founded in 1916 by Adolph Zukor, Jesse L. Lasky and Cecil B. DeMille. It is the fifth oldest studio that is still in production. The studio is most known for films such as Shrek, Transformers, Indiana Jones, MissionImpossible, Friday the 13th and Paranormal Activity as well as many others.

Warner Brothers

Warner Bros. was founded in 1923 by Albert, Harry, Sam and Jack Warner. The headquarters are in Burbank, California but it is also located in New York. They are considered one of the major film studios and are most known for The Shining, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, Batman, Free Willy, Harry Potter, Charlie andthe Chocolate Factoryas well as many others.
