Mood Board Analysis

The plot for this movie is about how one child with a unique ambition comes true when he encounters something in a nearby lake, that sets him on a trip he wont ever forget.

The moodboard`s design of green reflect not only on our chosen theme colour, but how it relates to the character and the meaning.

“Anything Is Possible”- sums up the plot of the story and how the character changes throughout the movie. The image may be simple and plain, but the wording would make the audience think differently. Also it gives the representation as to how the sequence is based on how ones ambition can really come true, if it differs from someone else.

The image portrays how at first, the boy is bullied by his friends because he is different in terms of how he handles his daily things. It also relates to real life experiences that children may encounter when going through school life, where “fitting in” may be a challenge for those who are considered different or not normal.

As the colour green suggests nature and freshness, this is one of the concepts in the movie, due to the scene of where the boy begins to spot the unknown object in the lake, relating to being in a safe, secured natural environment.

The boat is one of the objects that holds a strong connection to the meaning of the story because not only does it symbolise the child's father, but at first, the relationship between them both wasn’t as good due to their differences, however, as the story unfolds, the child finally uses the boat in order to reach his ambition.

In this image, shows the child's bedroom as to where in one scene, he makes the decision as what path he wants to follow. The bedroom enhances the movie theme as its painted with the colour green and how the definition of that particular colour would be further portrayed throughout the movie.

Codes and Conventions

The codes and conventions are important for my film as every part would participate evenly so that when it comes to the process of distribution to the public, it would bring the pieces together, like forming a puzzle.

For Camera, the shots would be slow and the majority are reactions from the person in the scene.

Editing for making this film would have a mysterious yet innocent approach which would involve shots that wont have any added dialogue. This would make the audience feel tense as they would be willing to know what is going to happen.

For Sound, most of its scenes will begin quiet and established from the shot itself, as the movie gradually unfolds, it would build up tension for my audience and as a suggestion, if I end the film on a quick blackout or cliff-hanger this would leave the audience wanting to know more.

In terms of mise-en scene, the lighting and setting would be outdoors so it brings a more realistic view and present the purpose of my chosen colour theme; one with nature.
