Battle Card Admin Quick Start Guide Issue Date: March 2020 BATTLE CARDS Battle Cards is an application available on the Navigator Portal. It takes the Battle Cards that are created in PDF format and makes them available to the Johnson Controls sales organization and authorized Sales Agents. Salespeople will be able to view Battle Cards for all brands they are authorized to sell. The Battle Card Administrators will need to make sure that once a Battle Card is created, that it is loaded into the Navigator System. Login to Salesforce 1. Type in below URL to access the Salesforce website. https://login.salesforce.com 2. Enter your login credentials. 3. Enter your Salesforce ID, which is your email address e.g., K [email protected] . 4. Enter your Salesforce password. 5. Press Login.

BATTLE CARDS Battle Cards is an application available on the Navigator Portal. It takes the Battle Cards that are created in PDF format and

makes them available to the Johnson Controls sales organization and authorized Sales Agents. Salespeople will be able to

view Battle Cards for all brands they are authorized to sell. The Battle Card Administrators will need to make sure that once

a Battle Card is created, that it is loaded into the Navigator System.

Login to Salesforce

1. Type in below URL to access the Salesforce website . https:// login.sa lesforce.com

2. Enter your login credentials .3. Enter your Sa lesforce ID, which is your emai l

address e .g . , K e ith.c .evans@jci .com .4. Enter your Sa lesforce password.5. Press Login.

Update/Replace Existing Document

1. Once you have logged into Salesforce, type in the Offer ing Cata log Document (OCD) Number or the F i le Name in the search bar and se lect search. e .g . OCD91563 or YHAU-CL.CH vs 16LJ-A.

Note: A full list of existing Battle Cards and their OCD numbers can be found in the link above.

2. Cl ick on the correct OC Document ID in the section cal led OC Document

3. With the correct document identified, se lect “Upload Offer ing Document” to start the process of updating / replacing the ex isting file.Note: Make sure you use the same file name that is in the “File Name” field of the document you are replacing.

4. Select the upload type (Documents) and then c l ick the “Choose F i le” button to se lect the document that you would l ike to replace

5. Select the fi le that you would l ike to replace and hit the “Open” button.

Note: In order to prevent dupl icate documents, the fi le name should be in the fo l lowing format and should inc lude the region where the document should be appl ied. e.g . YZ vs WME-Asia Pac ific .

6. F inal ly se lect the “Upload” button to complete the action of replacing your document .

7. You can now se lect the “Open Fi le” button from the OC Document page, or go to the Card Appl ication to see that the document has been replaced.

1. Select the “Plus” S ign to access the Al l Tabs l i st .

2. Scrol l through the l i st of appl ications and select “OC Document”.

3. Select “New OC Document”

4. You wil l then need to enter data in the fol lowing fields: (a) Document Name – Name of the document being

uploaded(b) Status (Set to Published)(c) Language (Set to English)(d) Security Grouping (If desired)(e) Audience (Extranet, JCI Employees) based on

requirement(f) Brand (Select any brands that need to be

associated with each document)(g) Description (Describes the File)(h) Literature Type (Based on how you would like to

classify the document)

Note: If Literature Type Battle Card is selected, you will also have to select the Template Type Battle Card and populate the associated fields.

5. Select save to store the Document Page before you start the upload process . 6. Select the Upload Offer ing Document Button.

7. Select the upload type (Documents) and then c l ick the “Choose F i le” button to se lect the document that you would l ike to add

8. Select the fi le that you would l ike to add and h it the “Open” button.

9. F inal ly se lect the “Upload” button to complete the action of adding your document.

10. You can now se lect the “Open Fi le” button from the OC Document page to ver i fy that your fi le has been uploaded.

Note: You will need the OC Document (OCD) Number of the file to connect it to the Battle Card Structure

11. You can a lso upload images us ing the same process above. There wi l l be two var iations.

12. You wi l l need to change the L i terature type in 4(h) to Image

13. You wi l l need to se lect “ Image” f rom the Se lect Upload Type field.

Now that you have added a new document or image, proceed to on to either one of the next two steps.

Connect New Document to Battle Card Structure

1. To add the document to a Content Navigator Appl ication, se lect the “New Content Nav igator Ass ignment” button.

2. On adding a new ass ignment, the fol lowing fields need to be completed.(a) OC Document - prov ided(b) Appl ication – Search for “Battle Card”(c) Content Navigator Group – The group where

you would l ike the document would appear .Use the search and type in CNG to get a list of groups or use the .xlsx sheet below.

(d) Sequence – The order you would l ike for the document to appear .

(e) Select “Save” to complete the assoc iation

Note: The existing Groups, Sub-Groups and Sequences can be found at the Content Navigator Group – Battle Card.xlsx.Use this document as a reference for additional linkage.

Once you save the document with the Content Navigator Group, users will be able to see it in the application.

1. Select the “Plus” S ign to access the Al l Tabs l i st .

2. Scrol l through the l i st of appl ications and select “Appl ications”.

3. Select “Go” in the View i f you do not see the Battle Cards appl ication.

4. Then, se lect the Battle Cards appl ication.

5. For Content Navigator Groups that do not have an image, you can se lect the Content Navigator Group Name / CNG-xxxxx number that you would l ike to associate to a document.

6. From the Content Navigator Group Detai l page, se lect the “Edit” button.

7. Scrol l down to the OC Document Image field and type in the OCD number that was created when you added the new image above.

8. Cl ick “Save”

Note: The image will now be associated with the Parent

Group or Child group that you selected and will show up in

the application.

Navigate the Battle Cards

1. You can navigate the Battle Card p latform using the left navigation menu

2. When Bui lding Automation is se lected, the menu us expanded

3. The second level of navigation is more specific. C l ick on the category of the Battle Cards you would l ike to see. In this case, you can use the pictures to select “Thermostats , Sensors , A irflow Measurement”

4. F ind the Battle Card you would l ike and c l ick the download button to open the file

5. The file is now open and avai lable for use

Search for a file

1. From the Battle Card Appl ication, Type in the word GLAS to find any Battle Cards re lated to GLAS thermostats

2. Any Battle Card re lated to the Battle Card appl ication wi l l be made avai lab le for se lection.

Make a Battle Card a Favorite

3. After you log into Navigator , Se lect Appl ications / Browse

4. Scrol l through the Browse Appl ications until you find Battle Cards and se lect the star in the upper r ight corner of the appl ication.

5. The next time you se lect the Dashboard f rom the Appl ications menu, you wi l l see the Battle Card shortcut on l i sted as a favor i te appl ications. You can a lso access i t at any time from the Favor i tes menu.
