The schedule for 6th grade is as follows:

Monday 4th period = 1st period class

Tuesday 4th period = 2nd period class (NO 4th Period on Early Release Wednesdays)

Thursday 4th period = 5th period class

Friday 4th period = 6th period class

This class will consist of independent reading, vocabulary and grammar instruction, Thinking Maps introduction, additional ELA instruction as needed.

Our CMS rules and procedures are called The Sabercat Way!It consists of the 3Ps: Prepared, Polite, and Performing.

Students will learn and practice how to be Prepared, Polite and Performing at all times on the CMS campus. ROARs will be awarded to students who demonstrate the 3Ps as appreciation for their commitment to the rules and procedures of CMS. In exchange, ROARS are used as school currency in the ROARS store.

What is WEB?•Every 6th grader will be involved in WEB this year. •WEB is a program that helps 6th graders acclimate to middle school and gives them a sense of belonging amongst their peers and mentorship from 8th grade students.•WEB takes place all year long and 6th graders will be meeting with their 8th grade leaders twice a month and will take part in activities that promote team building, life and school skills, and help them to make friends.•Every 6th grader is placed in small groups and has two 8th grade leaders.

IMPORTANT!! These 8th grade leaders have reached out to you or your child via a phone call within this last week. If your child has NOT received a phone call it is

because the school does NOT have your updated number or email. If you want to ensure that your child is called before Monday, please leave your child’s first and last

name and a number they can be reached at on a paper on the way out the door.

Electronics Policy on CMS Campus

The CMS policy about the use of electronic devices, including but not limited to, cellular phones, mp3 players, headphones & ear buds, and personal gaming systems.

CMS ELECTRONICS POLICY

The Centennial Middle School policy about the use of electronic devices, including,

but not limited to, cellular phones, mp3 players, headphones & ear buds, and

personal gaming systems, is as follows:

1. ALL electronic devices that are brought to school are to be TURNED OFF

& STORED in students’ backpacks from the time the first bell rings in the

morning until the dismissal bell rings at the end of the school day.

2. Students who violate this policy must turn over their

electronics/equipment to staff immediately.

3. The following consequences are in place for students who are in

violation of this policy.

a. 1st offense – Returned to student at 3:30pm the same day.

b. 2nd offense –Parent must come to pick up the item.

c. 3rd offense – Parent/Admin/Student Mtg. and item will be

returned.

Note: A Parent or Guardian may come to the school at any time to reclaim the

confiscated item and take it home with them.

By signing the student or parent/guardian acknowledges that they understand

CMS’s policy regarding electronics use at school.

Understand and Follow the Electronics Policy

Teachers may allow students to use electronics in classrooms for learning purposes.

• ALL electronic devices that are brought to school are to be TURNED OFF & STORED in

students’ backpacks from the time THE FIRST BELL RINGS at 8:23am UNTIL THE DISMISSAL BELL Rings at 3:30pm.

• Students who violate this policy must turn over their electronics/equipment to staff immediately.

• Students – do not make things worse! Turn device over and do not get into a power struggle that could lead to bigger consequences!

• First Offense: • STUDENT will report to Ms. Corner (Focus Room) at the end of the School day to retrieve the phone. Ms.

corner will NOT find the student to give the phone back!

• Second Offense: • Parent will need to come to CMS to pick up phone from Ms. Corner.

• Third Offense: • Parent will come in for a meeting with the grade level administrator and then get phone back.

Note: A Parent or Guardian may come to the school at any time to reclaim the confiscated item and take it home with them.
