What is FIJI Push?

FIJI Push is a fundraising initiative for the United Services Organizations (USO) founded in

Spring 2012 at The Johns Hopkins University. It is run by the on campus Fraternity, Phi Gamma

Delta. FIJI Push asks individuals to form teams of 8 people to push a Humvee down the length of

a street. The fastest team to do so wins gift cards to local eateries and prizes to local venues.

Each team member must raise $10, for a total of $80 per team, to donate to the USO. For the first

annual FIJI Push this year, we are aiming to raise $10,000, consisting of registration fees, in

addition to donations from student organizations, local businesses, FIJI Graduate brothers,

parents and friends of FIJI, and the State College community.

Who is FIJI?

Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) is the oldest mens collegiate social fraternity at Penn State, foundedin 1888. Phi Gamma Delta exists to promote lifelong friendships, to reaffirm high ethical

standards and values, and to foster personal development in the pursuit of excellence. Phi

Gamma Delta is committed to provide opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility,

leadership, scholarship, and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of

Where is FIJI Push Held?

FIJI Push will be taking place at Pollock Road, on Sunday September 8th, from 1PM - 4PM.

Who is Involved with FIJI Push?

Phi Gamma Delta invites all members of the Penn State University community and the Inter-

Fraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, and other Greek organizations, along with the 700+

student organizations on campus. The event will be advertised through a variety of local news

and media organizations. We also extend special invitations to the faculty and school

administration.

All proceeds from FIJI Push will go entirely to the United Services Organization (USO) to

support service members and their families. We need help covering the cost of prizes and

equipment rental. We hope to raise $10,000 with more than 300 participants. We hope you will

join us in supporting the troops!

Why do we need your help?

Because all proceeds from the event are being donated to the USO, we need to limit all expenses.

Expenses for the event include: table rentals, water and snacks, photographer, prizes, t-shirts, and

more. With your help, we will be able to minimize, and maybe even eliminate, all expenses, and

maximize our amount of donations for the USO.

Any excess money that is intended for event purposes will be donated to the USO.

How Can FIJI Push Benefit You?

- Gain publicity for your company from an expected 400+ attendees

- Take part in an event located at the center of the University campus

- Distribute flyers & notices along with participant registration

- Postings on Facebook and Twitter

- Help Phi Gamma Delta to support the USO and run a successful philanthropic event
