I am little and hard and I fall off of a tree.
I can be green or brown if I’m old you will see.
Scurrying squirrels gather and eat me.

When I am full grown I am orange and fine.
I grow in a field on a very long vine.
You can eat me or carve me to make a halloween sign.

I can be red or yellow or orange or brown.
When I change colors on a tree I shine like a crown.
It’s only when I fall that some people frown.

I get taller and taller growing towards the sun.
My petals are bright yellow during summer fun.
When fall comes around you can bake my seeds in a bun.

I am nothing in the winter and ripe in the fall.
I am a blossom in the spring and in summer a little green ball.
You can bake me in pies or drink my juice ya’ll.

When you go door to door say trick-or-treat please.
It might be cold so make sure your costume has long sleeves.

Before you can cut me I have to be dry.
I’m sorry I make some people sneeze and cry.

I like to eat nuts and hide in trees when it’s wet.
You can see me on your playground if you’re quiet I bet.

You scoop my guts and seeds out but it won’t feel bad.
Get a grown-up to help make me like your mom or your dad.

Just brush after eating so your teeth won’t get icky.
