Fifth Sunday in Lent March 13, 2016

PASTOR’S POTPOURRI -LAZARUS, COME OUT!

Today, Lazarus takes center stage. As you remember, he was the brother of Martha and Mary and had died. Jesus called him back from death and gave him back to his sisters. He celebrated new life. Our Elect will be given new life through the waters of Baptism. Kist as we were given new life. This life will never end because Jesus died and rose for us. Today is that last Scrutiny as the Elect are strengthened and given healing from all that is evil in their lives. This weekend offers us a chance to think about death and how we view dy-ing. Where is our hope if not in Jesus’ promise to be our res-urrection and our life. By the way, remember to bring back your Rice Bowls next weekend.

— Fr. Bob
