ARE YOU CURRENTLY WITH AN AGENCY? Yes. Industry Models in LA (Commercial Print, Commercials/TV/Flim) Envy Model Management in Vegas (Runway).

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE AND WORK?Mommy inspires my life. My crazy mood swings inspires my work. It helps me create and invade nature and its possibilities in an infinite creativity space.

WHAT DOES MODELING MEAN TO YOU?A model is a clothes hanger. A canvas for the designers’ inspiration to come to life. Make me ugly, make me pretty, it’s all inbetween the lines of the concept.

HOW DOES YOUR PERSONALITY CHANGE WHEN YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?I’m shy. But my photos are always mean & moody.

WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART OF YOUR JOB?Being animated, I’m not an actress and never in life will become one. I cannot do silly faces, I cannot smile. I’m the hard / sexy look, moody type.

AND THE EASIEST PART OF YOUR JOB?Undressing. Simple and easy, I just take my clothes off.

TELL A LITTLE SECRET ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO-ONE KNOWS...Its a secret. Im not a Diva.

PHOTOGRAPHER: RODNEY RAYMUA / HAIR: ERIN A. MONROE @ CLOUTIER AGENCY

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A MODEL, AND WHY?I decided to finally go for modeling when I turned 18 years old because I love runway. I dont love fashion but I love clothes & runway more than I love myself. Modeling is only temporary life experience for me and I’m just living to what I believe is the full extent of it. I was born into an asian family, the eldest child. Therefore, I take on the family business whatever it may be, whether it is the trashman or the janitor. Modeling is currently just a side track path that I’m taking a moment to enjoy.

DESCRIBE A DAY IN YOUR PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL LIFE.I Watch Anime till 3am, wake up at 10am, wash up, work: emailing, post castings, graphic designing, calling credit card companies, whatever I need to do. Then, eat dinner, get in bed, watch Anime till 3am, sleep at 4am. On a modeling day, no Anime the previous night, just shower then sleep. Wake up 3 hours before shoot, leaves 2 hours before shoot, arrive an hour earlier than anyone else. (Im always afraid to be late) Work, work, work, then go home. Eat late dinner, remove makeup... twice, sleep. Shower next morning- (my body can wait).

WHEN YOU GO TO A CASTING CALL, IS IT AS COMPETITIVE AS IT’S MADE OUT TO BE?No. I say 99% of the models are nice (no trash talkers). 1% are mean (cold stares). No crazy model is going to start a fight at a casting call, they’d have to be really stupid to make themselves look bad in front of the client. Modeling is generally competitive though, just like everything else.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD TO YOU, AND WHY?Family. Family always comes 1st over everything. Twice was I offered a great agency in New York, twice I rejected the offer because my family ran into money problems and were talking about bankruptcy. There is only one family, one bloodline in my entire life. How can I say no to my family.

WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY DURING YOUR MODELING CAREER SO FAR AND COULD THIS BE AN ADVICE TO OTHERS?Yes, Investment in good photos. It may be expensive but its worth it in the long run.

WHAT IS ONE BRAND YOU WOULD LOVE TO MODEL FOR ONE DAY, AND WHY?There is no such thing as one brand. I want to model all brands (runway wise) because it fits me better. hahaha.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ASPIRING MODELS?Have a backup plan.

WHEN YOU’RE NOT DOING MAKEUP, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?Looking for my next gig, cleaning and organizing my make-up and looking for inspiration, reviewing products....and working on my tan!

DO YOU REMEMBER THE MOMENT THAT MADE YOU REALIZE THIS WAS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?I have always loved Make-Up and I knew that it was what I wanted to do. But the moment that I knew that I just had to go for it was when I was living inArizona with a boyfriend; we were there because he was going to school. At that point I was only working and I wasn’t pursuing anything for my self. I wasthere to support my boyfriend’s dreams. By the one year mark that I was in Arizona, I decided that I was not happy there and that it was time that I startpursuing my dreams of being a make-up artist. Within 2 weeks of realizing that I knew what I wanted to do with my life, I left Arizona and came back toCalifornia and was preparing to start make-up school.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE UP ONE DAY, AND WHY?I would love the opportunity to do Lady Gaga’s Make-up. She is just such an amazing rock star. It would be the highlight of my career.

WHAT DOES MAKEUP ARTISTRY MEAN TO YOU?Having the ability to enhance peoples natural beauty or bring out their beauty. It’s great to see the reaction on someones face when they are surprised that they could look that great.

DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF AS AN ARTIST AND WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE WORD ARTIST?Absolutely! I think that what I do is art and I think the word fits.

WHAT DO YOU THINK SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER MAKEUP ARTISTS?Hopefully my work ethic. I am willing to work just as hard if not harder than the next person. But talent is just as important as working hard.

WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS ARE YOU ATTRACTED MOST?I really like doing photoshoots. Especially during the Summer. My favorite types of looks to create are fresh clean and dewy summer inspired looks.
