CONCLUSIONS

Thapar University 13/05/2015

• 00 laminate has higher interlaminar shear strength and higher shear modulus then 900

laminate.

• Double notched shear test is best way to estimate interlaminar shear strength.

• Composite material is highly sensitive to fiber orientation at same impact pressure.

• Fracture toughness decreases with increase in fiber orientation angle because fracture axis is

defined by respective angle.

• Fibers having lay-up configuration as [0/90] has highest impact resistance.

• Ultimate strength gradually decreases when we increase the fiber orientation angle from 00 to

600 and slightly decreases from 600 to 900.
