Cable management is an essential consideration in any successful fiber communicationsnetwork. ADC Fiber Management Trays enable termination, termination/splicing,termination/storage, splicing only, and slack storage for optical fibers in a compact, singlerack unit panel. The all-front-access trays feature sliding radius limiters for error-proofslack loop management and bend radius protection within the tray. Sliding adapter packsallow easy access for connecting jumpers and cleaning connectors, ensuring that anyfiber can be installed or removed without inducing a macrobend on an adjacent fiber. The trays are lockable, further ensuring integrity of the fibers by greatly reducing thechance for accidents.

Fiber Management TrayIntroduction
Features:
Sliding radius limiters provide ultimate fiber management by addressing one of the most critical elementsof fiber cable management: bend radius protection.
By controlling the movement of fibers into the tray, error-proof slack loop management is maintained, ensuring 30 mm bend radius protection. This is crucial to protecting fiber, eliminating service failures anddecreasing costs.
Modular Design
ADC’s modular design offers the value of a singleinterface for performing multiple tasks in yournetwork. By employing a one-rack-unit, modulartray, network technicians have familiar access toterminating, splicing, and storing fiber. This cablemanagement approach translates to time andmoney saved, for moves, adds and changes.
Sliding Adapter Packs
Sliding adapter packs allow easy access forconnecting jumpers and cleaning connectors, ensuring that any fiber can be installed orremoved without disturbing adjacent fibers. Thatcan mean the difference between a networkreconfiguration time of 20 minutes per fiber andone of over 90 minutes per fiber.

Termination only Panels: This FMT accommodates 24 or 32standard single circuit access connectors. It is ideal for interconnectapplications that will experience minimal network reconfiguration.See page 6 for ordering information.
Termination and Splice Panels: The FMT termination andsplice solution terminates and splices 12, 16 or 24 fiberswithin 1 RU. Splice trays can be placed on the left and rightside of the FMT, offering you great flexibility in orderingthe panel to fit your specific network application. Thispanel should be ordered factory equipped with fiberdressed from the adapters to the splice area. See page 7for ordering information.
Termination and Storage Panels: This FMT accommodatesterminations in groups of 12, 16 or 24. This panel stores slack fiber forthe line and/or equipment side of the demarcation. It’s an ideal solution forinterconnect applications that may see some reconfiguration activity and where exact patch cords lengthscannot be determined. Slack storage within the panel also allows for reconnectorization of the fiber. Careshould be taken when ordering this panel to assure that the bulk slack storage is being ordered for thecorrect side of the panel. See Page 8 for ordering information.
Slack Storage Panels: These FMTs properly manage and protect excess optical jumper length at theequipment bay. They may be used in conjunction with other FMT solutions or as a standalone slack storagesolution at the equipment bay. Both bulk and discrete storage solutions are available for individual 1.7, 2.0and 3.0 mm jumpers. See page 9 for ordering information.
• Sliding Adapter Packs - Each with twoadapter/connectors provide easy hand access forconnecting cables and cleaning connectors.• Edge Protectors - Protect cables from sharpangles at bend points in the cable physical routing.• Rear Radius Limiters - Maintain a protectiveminimum bend radius for cables routed into the FMT.• Tie Lances - Secure fibers at the ingress/egresspoint for additional cable management.• Storage Radius Limiters - Provide slackstorage for cable terminated within the FMT.• Mounting Brackets - Factory-installed percustomer order, adapt the tray for differentmounting options including the following:
- 19- or 23-inch reversible EIA or WECO mounting with a 5-inch, 2.2-inch or 40 mm recess
- ETSI mounting with a 40 mm recess• Sliding Radius Trumpet Flare - Providescontinuous bend radius protection while theFMT is opened and closed.• Lockable - Further ensures the integrity of thefibers by reducing the chance for accidents.

Fiber Management TrayIn-Line AttenuatorsA fiber optic attenuator is an optical device that induces a calibrated fixed loss between two connectors, which dampens, or attenuates, the fiber optic signal. Attenuation is required if an optical signal has toomuch power, exceeding the operating range of the equipment, which causes saturation at the receiver andinduces system errors or failures.
ADC’s full line of attenuators is manufactured to meet the demands of your network.
ADC’s in-line attenuators are installed between anadapter and a connector; they are fused attenuators, providing exceptional optical performance.
