This Make-Up Art Cosmetics illustration is for a Digital Media Design module in my diploma y ear t wo i n NAFA. We were instructed to design a n illustration that best represents the product of our choice. I chose M.A.C’s Colorcraft collection. Color-craft collection is a collection of m any vibrant eyeshadow colors. To illustrate that, I used a myriad of colors and also an illus-tration of a girl to show how the color looks like on the lips.

This set of photography is a part of m y final w ork i n my NAFA Diploma year. These are included in the editorials of the book that I was doing which depicted someone with Schizophrenia. I was showing h ow these w ords were s wirling in the m ind of a person with Schizophrenia. I experimented with colors and water. All t he photographs w are taken i n a tank with colored

water in a studio.

The main topic for this publication i s Schizophrenia. I n this book, I had to reflect h ow a person w ith Schizophrenia go o n their daily life. The book c hronicles t he d iary entries of a real patient. I had t o imagine myself in her shoes, looking at the work and also understand the whole mind of a Schizo patient. There are times when she was not in control of her mind and living a life where she has no control is very grey. As far as art direction goes, I had t o show the “grey” s ide of the illness. It was followed by chapter two and t hree where it was relatively “brighter”. Throughout the book, words and phrases w ere f requently used and the whole book w as

handwritted and vextorised.

Catharsis simply means the process of releasing repressed emotions. This project sort of showed the different ways of release those emotions. This project started from an excersize of using an object and developing ideas from them. In this instance, the object was a trash bag. From there, I felt that a trash bag was blank slate and a form of freedom of speech.

PHOTOGRAPHYAudi Fashion Festival 2011

This set of photographs were taken at the backstage of the Audi Fashion Festival. I wanted to show that it is more than just wearing expensive clothes and strutting down the runway. I managed to take these photos while doing a stint with Mercury MC as a dresser for the show.

According to S wiss p sychiatrist Carl Jung, the psyche i s a self-regulating adaptive system. Humans are e nergetic systems, and i f the energy gets blocked, the psyche gets stuck, or sick. If adaption is thwarted, the psychic energy will stop flowing, a nd regress. This process manifests in n eurosis and psychosis. Human psychic contents are c omplex, and deep. They can s plit, and form complexes t hat take o ver one's p erson. Jung proposed that this occurs through maladaptation to one’s e xternal o r internal reality. The p rinciples of adaptation, p rojection, a nd compensation are central p rocesses i n Jung’s view of psyche’s ability to adapt. To a regular mind, this m ay seem gibberish and in l ayman’s term, he e xplains that anything a nd e verything e ffects the psyche which are the mind and soul of a person. T hey transform through changing t o adapt to its s urrounding. Human makes mistakes a nd s ometimes those mistakes b ecomes a habit, l ike a sick cycle carousel. Sometimes we exploit what is good. Sometimes we regret it and try to undo what we did. How many times have humans, at a time of need, goes, “Oh Lord, have mercy.”? How many have sat on t he c onfession b ox a nd s ay, “Forgive me Father for I have sinned.”? These are times when we do what we have in our power to c hange or erase t he m istakes. Some just l et i t be a nd c ontinue w hat they h ave done till t hey have l ost all moral compass. This is when their psyche disintegrates.

Project “Witness the Freedom”, abbrieviated, WTF, is a one night event to remove the stigma of clubbing and shed a

light on the healthier and positive side of clubbing. It also encourages local talents with the inclusion of a DJ
