Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) Explained

• All cross-border transactions requires an exchange from the merchant’s local currency to the currency of the cardholder.

• The parties providing the foreign exchange process will add a percentage to the interbank exchange rate which is the FX Margin.

• DCC offers Visa and MasterCard international cardholders the choice to pay for goods or services in their home currency while the acquirer and merchant realise the foreign exchange margin normally recognised by the card schemes and issuers.

• Every Visa and MasterCard cardholder who makes a purchase in a foreign currency will experience a foreign exchange rate inclusive of a FX Margin.
