    IMPORTANT GENERAL INFORMATION

Currently, several fellowships offer pre-and/or post-doctoral support to University ofWashington epidemiology students. Some from outside the UW are also listed. Contactinformation is listed below.

If you are a physician, it is also advisable to contact the University of Washington MedicalCenter (UWMC), which sponsors a number of postdoctoral fellows each year. Seehttp://uwmedicine.washington.edu/Education/Pages/default.aspx.Dentists may wish to contactDental Public Health or the School of Dentistry athttp://www.dental.washington.edu/.Most

postdoctoral fellowship deadlines are prior to Epidemiology application.

Pre-doctoral fellows usually receive approximately $1,800/month and about 55% of residenttuition with non-resident tuition waived. Most predoctoral fellows can find a 10 hour/week RAto pay for most of the remainder of tuition. Some fellowship programs related to theEpidemiology Department do not consider pre-doctoral students until after admission, but

some deadlines are earlier so look now.

Most traineeships go to advanced rather than to first year PhD or masters students but it is worthchecking, if you are eligible. International students are not eligible unless specifically indicated.A trainee is required to write his/her thesis and/or dissertation, in the research area
