Andrea HarveyBVSc, DSAM (Feline), DipECVIM-CA, MRCVS, MANZCVS (Assoc)

Andrea Harvey graduated from the University of Bristol Veterinary School, UK in 2000, and after

a couple of years in small animal practice, returned to Bristol Vet School to undertake a 3 year residency in feline medicine, funded by the Feline Advisory Bureau (now International Cat Care). She then remained at Bristol Vet School as FAB Lecturer in Feline Medicine until 2011 after which she moved to Sydney where she ran the feline medicine service at Small Animal Specialist Hospital until 2015. Andrea is also the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Australasian Representative, bringing various initiatives such as the ISFM ‘Cat Friendly Clinic’ scheme to Australia, and helping to develop the international profile of the feline chapter of ANZCVS. Andrea has lectured widely internationally and contributed to numerous textbooks, including being co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice. Andrea has wide interests in all aspects of feline medicine, and is passionate about both providing the best care for her patients, and helping to support other veterinarians to do the same. She has been a tutor in CVE’s Feline Medicine Distance Education and is currently doing a PhD involving research in brumbies.

Sue FosterBVSc, MVetClinStud, FANZCVS (Feline Medicine)

Sue Foster is a Fellow of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists and a registered specialist

in feline medicine. However, her interests span many areas of small animal medicine in both cats and dogs. Sue worked in private mixed practice before doing specialist training and a Masters in Veterinary Clinical Studies (on adrenal function in dogs) at the University of Sydney (1995-1999). She has lectured at Murdoch University (2000-2003) and also at the University of Sydney (as a visiting scholar, 2004). Sue has numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and has also contributed to chapters in medicine and infectious disease textbooks. She has presented scientific papers both nationally and internationally and regularly contributes to continuing education seminars and conferences. Sue lives in Western Australia and is currently an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at Murdoch University (Western Australia) and a medical consultant for Vetnostics (Sydney) and ASAP (Melbourne). She also works as a locum for both private and university practices and is the spokesperson for Vets Against Live Export (VALE).

Mary Thompson BVSc (Hons) DACVIM MANZCVS (Assoc)

Mary graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995 and worked in companion animal practice in

Sydney, before completing an internship at Washington State University and a residency in small animal internal medicine at Purdue University. She is board certified in internal medicine, having gained Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2001. Mary was on faculty at the University of Queensland from 2005-2015, when she moved to Murdoch University in WA. Her major research interest is recurrent urinary tract infection and antimicrobial resistance in dogs and cats, as well as a keen interest in nutritional toxicities in companion animals. Mary is active in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and is President of the Small Animal Medicine Chapter and Vice-president of the Feline Chapter.

Anna TebbMA, VetMB, MVM, DipECVIM-CA, MRCVS

Anna graduated from Cambridge University in 2000 and then spent four years at Glasgow University

completing a general internship followed by a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She obtained her European Specialist qualifications in Internal Medicine in 2007. She has worked at several Universities and private veterinary referral hospitals in the UK and Australia. Anna’s particular interests include endocrine disease, haematology and certain infectious diseases.
