if the occupant load is 200 or greater

• Revises the required content of a charter school
application.
• Provides for the automatic termination of a charter
under certain conditions.
• Specifies certain limits on the number of charter
schools established.
• Creates High-Impact Charter Network & Florida
Institute for Charter School Innovation.
• Revises charter school eligibility requirements for
funding allocations

completed a study of SREF and recommend 11
possible modifications to SREF

• The Office of Economic and Demographic
Research (EDR) has studied the student station
cost maximums and recommend changes by
January 31, 2017
• All funding sources will be limited by student
station cost maximums beginning July 1, 2017

• The Auditor General will determine if any student
station cost overage is due to extraordinary
circumstances
• Sanctions for student station cost overage:• Loss of PECO funding for 3 years
• Oversight committee supervision of all capital outlay
expenditures for 3 years

• Authorizes a school board to adopt limited
exceptions to SREF
• Each exception to SREF must have a cost-
benefit analysis prepared and presented at a
public school board meeting

Allows the following exceptions to SREF:
• Allow interior non-load-bearing fire-rated wood
stud walls located in non-wet areas
• Allow gravel or grassed student parking areas
• Allow relocatables without covered walkways
• Allow gravel or grassed parking without lights
• Allow exterior lighting to be turned off by a timer
when the site is not occupied
• Allow exterior illumination level to be reduced
from 5 fc to 1 fc at single-door exits
