Fee paying online resources at the Bpi
A large online collection which is justified by the specific
nature of the Bpi :
National and public library
Located in center of Paris in the Centre Pompidou
High frequentation rate
Online collections tend to be representative of the publishers' offering, and interesting for public libraries.

Encyclopaedic, multimedia and diversified online resources
Covers all the fields of knowledge, theoretical and practical
French (mainly), English and multilingual resources
Databases with or without full text, newspapers and magazines, periodical packages, ebooks libraries, encyclopaedias and dictionaries
Text, picture, video, audio and numerical data

Online collections : figures
110 titles including thousands of deep resources and among them more than 31000 ebooks and 6000 periodicals
In addition to these 110 titles, the Bpi subscribes specialised collections : movies, music and self training
Online collections are a complement to our print offering

Large public and free access for everyone
Different uses : studies, lifelong training and learning, everyday life matters, leisure
The Bpi offers a large choice of online resources to a public who is not allowed to access to academic or specialized libraries
Free access for everyone in the library to computers and, in the near future, to mobile devices

Full text and easy access
Since 2012, Bpi’s online resources evolved along with publishers‘ offering.
Priority is given to: full text, French language (followed by English), quality contents, large public.
Supply still is insufficient : most recent literature novels, sciences, geography, sport, art.
As often as possible Bpi favours easy access and user centered services.
