Chiron in Aries

KKl The February New Moon on the 5th

kicks starts Chinese New Year. This

is the year of the Earth Pig. The pig

is known for it’s creativity, wisdom,

luck and money!

Just as Pisces is the last sign of the

zodiac, so too the Pig is the last

sign of the Chinese Zodiac, so they

have a few things in common, such

as the capacity for empathy and

compassion. The Pig is a sensitive

sign, picking up on subtle vibra-

tions and nuances.

Much of the stellar activity this

month is centred around the pow-

erful Virgo Full Moon on the 20th.

On the 18th Chiron moves fully into

Aries for a seven year stint, the

same day Venus hooks up with Sat-

urn. This ingress and aspect offers

us a potential for regrouping and

focusing on practical measures and

healing. It’s especially important to

respect others and our relationships

at this time.

The Sun moves into Pisces on 19

February as Mercury is aligning with

Neptune, and the following day we

have the Full Supermoon at 0 Vir-

go.

This highly potent stellar week ends

with Venus joining Pluto. Any ten-

sion in relationships may erupt

through this powerful cycle, so be

aware that we should do our best

not to take others for granted, es-

pecially during this emotive week

when tension may flare.

This New Moon ushers in the Chinese year

of the Earth Pig. The pig is known for

it’s creativity, wisdom, luck and money!

Just as Pisces is the last sign of the zo-

diac, so too the Pig is the last sign of

the Chinese Zodiac, so they have a few

things in common. This is a good year

to get creative!

Mars and Eris are tightly conjoined now, and

square Pluto so the first impact of the Pig energy

is not going to be an easy or luxurious ride. The

Pig loves its creature comforts but this chart isn’t

all that comfortable.

Venus squares Chiron and the New Moon itself is

unaspected, save for a semi-sextile to Neptune,

which is likely to take us away from our comfort

zone too.

Tests come this month in how we go about doing

what we want to do. Or do we need to modify our

approach? Should we continue on the comforta-

ble path or should we take on a new challenge?

Some modifications and tweaking may be need-

ed. There is likely to be some uncertainty as to

what option is best, or we might not want to pro-

ceed at all. Try to manage any difficulties slowly

and gently.

Either way, there may be some tricky situations

and inner questions that this New Moon chart rais-

es for us.

Mars has recently linked with Uranus to upset an

es and seismic activity in sensitive regions of the

Saturn, Pluto, Venus and the South Nodal Axis are

closely linked, emphasising our ambitions and

long range plans. This is a time to get to work

and put our talents into the projects and goals

that are most important to us.

Venus will play a key role in determining our pri-

orities, while Mercury and Neptune will help stir

imagination and creativity, bringing dreams and

visions to conscious awareness.

This is a great Full Moon for artists, mu-

sicians, and all forms of creative under-

takings. We are likely to be extra sensi-

tive and more attuned of subtleties.

Psychic perceptions are also high.

Chiron fully enters Aries on 18 February after teeter-ing on the cusp for most of 2018.

The two previous ingresses of Chiron into Aries took place in 1918-19 and 1968-69. Each transit takes about 7 years to unfold. So 1918-1925 and 1968-1974 are the last two transits of Chiron in Aries.

The 1918-25 transit brought about an end to the first world war and ushered in the roaring 20s a time of hedonism and pleasure.

The second was a violent time of unrest, amid pro-tests against the Vietnam War, but it was also a time of hope and inspiration. The end to the Vietnam War came when Chiron was in Aries.

The Chiron cycle is around 50 years, so those born in 1968-9 will be experiencing their Chiron Return. This is a profound time of growth and development which

can also bring health issues to the fore. For women it heralds the onset of menopause, which can be both a time of grief, but also of liberation. The symbol for Chiron is a key, a symbol that can close one segment of life and open another. This symbol is active in your life at the time of the Chiron return and can bring in-credible healing and renewal.

In the bigger picture sense this symbolism suggests that over the coming seven years we may witness healing around gun violence in the USA. Break-throughs in healing conditions like brain tumours and/or facial injuries could emerge. A new awareness about the impact of trauma and violence is suggest-ed along with an end to wars and conflicts of long standing.
