FEBRUARY SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS Special thanks to Kathy Dahl, Marlene Dreier, and Stephanie Nelson for giving “one hour” in February. We are looking for two people to teach on each of the following Sundays: 3/20 – “Holy Week,” 4/3 – “Ascension,” 4/17 – “Paul’s Letters,” 5/2 - “Early Be-lievers,” and 5/15 – “The Holy Spirit.” We need “ONE HOUR!” In February we will learn about “Transfiguration,” “The Prodigal Son,” Jesus Healing the Two Blind Men,” and “The Wedding Banquet.” On the 14th of February we will be decorating Valentine cookies to be delivered to the Barrett Care Center and Rolling Hills Resi-dence. If you can help us decorate at 9:30 am that Sunday, please let us know. Thank you! Coming up in March we will be delivering muffins on Sunday, March 13th. FEBRUARY RELEASE TIME NEWS Heather Danner and Joyce Hanson are teaching 18 lively 5th and 6th graders during Release Time on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:00 pm. Just as our Sunday School, we use the Spark Lectionary lessons that follow the worship service topics. We are looking for special lessons/speakers to present to our students to widen the scope of education. If you have suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.

Luther Crest Early Bird Registration deadline is March 1 for $100 off. Scholarships will be available for interested youth. If your child/grandchild is interested in attending Luther Crest, please contact the church office by May 1 as camps will fill up fast.

What is Domestic Violence? Domestic Violence is a violent confrontation between family or household members

involving physical harm, sexual assault, or fear of physical harm. Family or house-

hold members include spouses / former spouses, those in (or formerly in) a dating

relationship, adults related by blood or marriage, and those who have a biological or

legal parent-child relationship elderly abuse. Someplace Safe has an office in

Elbow Lake.

Peace WELCA is collecting personal care items located on the table in the front

entry for Someplace Safe.

A complete list of their wish list is enclosed on the next page.

This is happening in our community and is a wonderful way for us to get involved

and help out.

Ash Wednesday is on February 10th with Worship Service at

6:30pm.

Soup and supper will be served starting on February 17th

through Lent at 5:30pm. A sign up sheet will be on kitchen

counter.

Call Meeting to Order—All members present

Devotional Time—None held.

Secretary’s Report. Motion as corrected by Jan, 2nd Brenda. MCU.

Treasurer’s report—Motion by Jan, 2nd by Brenda. MCU.

Old business

Funeral Costs—Vendors have provided 5 options and revised food cost price sheet has been es-

tablished.

Snow Removal—Marilyn motion for purchase on line for appreciation gift not to exceed $150.

Gwen 2nd. MCU.

Outdoor Lawn and Clean Up—Leon did not get completed.

New Business

Date for Annual Meeting—Council to set up and clean up. Potluck. Will be January 24, 2016.

2016 Budget—Discussed draft in special meeting prior to regular meeting.

Interim Pastor—Will have 2nd meeting and discuss compensation package, availability, flexibility

and expectations with Pr. Reisig.

Call Committee—Tabled further discussion

Release Time—Joyce reports it is manageable. Heather Danner to assist.

Confirmation—Discussed need for parental communication and will discuss with Pr. Reisig if he

accepts the interim position. Jennifer has volunteered to teach or assist Interim.

Reach out for Pastoral help “on call”—Discussion held. Tabled until we learn more about Inter-

im.

Odegaard scholarship application—Motion to approve scholarship of $250 by Jan, Marilyn 2nd.

MCU.

Coffee Maker—Leasing agreement available with no contract as long as we purchase coffee from

vendor. New one will be in place as soon as possible.

AV Issues—Mic, recording etc. The two remotes are not working reliably. Tom will get input

from Ben Brutlag on repair or replacement and have Ben write down instructions for recording

services to be posted in AV room. Motion to purchase replacement or repair for microphone up to

$500. Brenda 2nd. MCU.

Nominations for Council—Nominating committee Terry Volker, Tom Perry and Nancy Waugh.

Tom has agreed to stay on. Jan will be off.

Destruction of Church Records—Will look into Synod recommendations.
