PPL Employment Training Workshop
PPLs Learning Center offers free workshops to help improve your computer skills and professional develop-
ment. Call 612-455-5300 or stop by to sign-up and reserve a spot in class.
Here are the workshops offered:
Excel 1: Basics: Learn the basics of how to set up personal budgets, spreadsheets for business and us
basic formulas.
Excel 2: Intermedicate: Now that youve got the basics, take your Excel skills to the next level in this
intermediate class.
College Exploration: Learn to identify and develop your educational goals and understand how to cho
the best option for you. Also learn about different types of financial aid available for school and how t
apply for aid.
Career Exploration: Learn to assess your career interests and skills and research your career options.
Community Resources: An overview of many helpful resources available throughout the community
Computer Basics 1: Intro Learn basic terms and software functions as well as how to use the mouse
and save documents.
Computer Basics 2: MS Word: Learn how to use Word formatting tools such as bold, center and bul-
lets; save and print files.
Computer Basics 3: Internet: Learn to navigate web pages and search for information.
Computer Basics 4: E-mail: Learn how to organize your account, send messages and attach documen
Effective Job Searching: Learn about the job search process and how to utilize the internet to your ad
vantage when applying for jobs.
Google Docs: Learn how you to easily create, share and edit documents online.
Interviewing Skills: Learn how to successfully prepare for a job interview.
LinkedIn: Set up your own LinkedIn account and learn how to effectively network online.
