One of the great joys of worship is to be with people who love the
Lord and have a desire to experience the divine presence of God. In
welcoming you, we pray that you can worship with us and experience
that presence of God in your life, hear the call of God on your life, and
have the freedom to respond to that call in faith and trust.

VOLUNTEERS FOR TODAY
Today we welcome to Henderson and Calvary Church the
Craig Haynie Family. Craig, his wife Crissy, and sons Christian
and Conner, have joined Calvary. He is the new band director
at H.I.S.D. and will share a few words with us this morning.
There will be NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLASSES on August 15 in
order to allow families an evening to get ready for the first
day of school on Thursday.
Be sure to sign up today for the BYOS (Bring Your Own Steak) Men’s Fellowship and
also to volunteer for the Back to School Bash.
On Sunday morning, August 26, during the morning worship service you will have the
opportunity to nominate one name to serve on the transitional pastor search team.
All names will be given to the Personnel Committee, and they will take the top names
nominated and see if those individuals are willing to serve. The committee will then
recommend those names to the church for final vote. When nominating a person to
serve, there are five areas you need to consider and a list of qualities they need to
have. Copies listing these five areas and qualities are available in the entrance area
outside the Worship Center on the information tables.
Join us tonight for the Student Choir presentation at 5:00!

Our Student Choir is beyond thrilled to present the choral songs, duets, and solos they have worked on all year tonight at Calvary! There will be nursery care for babies and toddlers, so bring the entire family to hear our students testify in song and in spoken word!
Speaking of our Student Choir, next Sunday marks the start of a new year and ALL students entering 6th through 12th grade are
invited to come be a part! We will meet at 5:00p.m. for Bible Study, and at 5:30p.m., our Student Choir meets to rehearse. This fall, both our student and children’s choirs will join the Sanctuary Choir to present our Christmas Celebration, “Hope for the Ages.” Our Wednesday night Children’s Discipleship time this fall will be called J.A.M. (Jesus and Music). This will be a great time of Bible lessons, games, and music. Ms. Susan will have more to say on this next week.
Please plan on joining us when we kickoff our rehearsals:

Next Sunday, August 19, AWANA begins for the 2018-19 school year. This is such a great ministry for our kids as they learn to “hide God’s word in their hearts” (Ps. 119:11) These are lessons that will be with our kids for the rest of their lives, guiding them as they make life choices and grow in their relationships with God. AWANA is open to all kids 3yrs
through 5th grade, and I encourage you to invite friends and neighbors to join this awesome ministry. If you have a desire to help children as they learn God’s Word and would like to be a part of this ministry, please talk with me or Pat and Heather Brown, our AWANA Directors. What I hear over and over again from those who have volunteered is how much this ministry has blessed them personally as they shared God’s Word with the kids. Come join us!
