February 2011 Results Vol. XXI No. 6 Scintillating Superstars Dear Scintillating Superstars, I've reread every e-mail, saved every card, pored over every picture, listened to every intelliverse message and savored the conversations with friends who've allowed me to rehash every moment of the DEBUT experience. I thought I might be the only one this fixated on the day, but Reed has insisted I send him every WORD written, and he even listened to the Intelliverse messages passed on by Amy. He told me he read this e-mail from National Deb Wehrer SEVERAL times. Deb lives in Colorado, and the first time I met her was in Hawaii when we were both top directors. This May we're going back to Hawaii. It's my first National trip, and she and I have a date to meet poolside. (Not sure if she'll have her turquoise bikini on? :) I'm going to share her words in her letter to her directors: GREAT MORNING POWERFUL LEADERS!!! After the most incredible trip to Illinois for Jeanie Martin's debut I thought I would share thoughts with you. There are times in your career when maybe it's more convenient to stay home, but times when you feel in your heart and head you need to be somewhere. That is how I felt about attending Jeanie's Debut and what a blessing for me to be there. It is one of the most amazing experiences of my Mary Kay career and believe me, that says a lot because there have been MANY Mountaintop moments!!! There were 20 National Sales Directors there, 750 people attended. I cannot adequately even come close to telling you about the entire experience, but WOW.....I'll try to share what we experienced. We were chauffered from the Chicago airport by another wonderful Director who took us to Jeanie's house.....they live on a lake in Sandwich, Illinois. It was rainy, but you walked into the house and there were NO DAMP SPIRITS THERE!!! There were probably 100 people there. Her home was so warm and inviting and gorgeous and elegant at the same time. The basement was the perfect MAN CAVE (where Reed her husband) was totally in his element of entertaining....the back patio led to 3 huge, stairstepped stone patios that overlooked the lake. Each room in her home was themed and just made you want to have a retreat there. On the main level, she has a great kitchen with amazing storage and organization. Then, you walk into this massive, vaulted ceiling great room with a round dining table....massive curved couch around the amazing rock fireplace, another sitting area with these burgundy animal print chairs that were adorable and another cocktail table. The main level also had 2 bedrooms and her massive office. Her desk was bigger than the President's, and she has photo albums of all 22 years of her MK career. Upstairs was her "loft" master suite with Jeanie-style and a Master Bath that made you think you were in a spa.... The whole evening was filled with Million $$ Directors....Cindy Machado, Leah Nelson, Jeanie's awesome Directors and husbands, and all the NSDs.....so many amazing people in one awesome home......you left and just pinched yourself for the experience you had. Saturday at the debut, classes were held in the morning. Teachers like Auri Hathaway(new NSD-Dacia's offspring), Pam Shaw, Stacy James, Carol Anton, Sandy Miller....so many to mention.....and then the debut after lunch. What did I learn and see?.....the hard work and commitment of her entire National Area. The families of her Directors with their adorable children were the Stars of the show. Jeanie's daughter, Amy Kemp spoke about her Mom's success and hard work......it was empowering. She spoke about the example her Mom was to her sister and to her. She spoke about how somewhere in our society HARD WORK has become something that is criticized, rather than honored as it was in prior generations. Amy spoke about the choices her Mom made that modeled a strong work ethic that allowed them to go to Italy when she was in grade school.....that is now allowing Amy and her family the freedom of so many choices. She shared that her Grandparents worked in a glass factory and that they tag-teamed working to feed and care for their 5 children.....that working overtime at times was necessary when more was needed in the family budget. She shared that working hard in her Grandparents generation was part of what made them WHO THEY WERE AS A FAMILY. She talked of watching her parents, Reed and Jeanie, and the HARD WORK ETHIC that they showed. It molded and shaped Amy and her sister. She shared that keeping your priorities in order does mean WORKING HARD so that your family has what it needs and offers them choices they will enjoy. It is hard to put into words the appreciation I have for the experience this weekend, but I just want you to know that your hard work will not go unrewarded or unnoticed. The things you do today model and move the ones you love most. To watch Jeanie's daughter stand up there in stillettos, 8 months pregnant, a Circle of Excellence Director herself, and speak about her Mom, made you know that you would want your daughter or son to be able to say the same about you. WORK HARD this final four.....March, April, May and June. Create your DREAM LIFESTYLE and DESIGN YOUR LIFE. If you don't know what that would feel or look like, spend time today writing it down. That weekend, I saw.....SO MANY DREAMS COME TRUE. I was part of an energy source that I have never felt in such an intimate atmosphere....to see that many women who have taken their Mary Kay dreams and made it a family affair. Make your dreams a family affair. Be who you aspire to be and be the woman of influence I know you can be. I can only echo Deb. My dream for you is to be the woman I know I you can be,

My Dream Corner...

I'm imagining Branson. It'll be my dress rehearsal for my first Career Conference as a National. And then on to the PERFORMANCE! For the first time all our directors are coming to the same Career Conference! For the first time Sandy's joining us, and she's the #1 National! For the first time my senior, Nadine Bowers is one of the TOP 3 directors! Amy will be joining her on stage, speaking as one of the top three as well. And thanks to some national who couldn't come...I get to be part of the show

too!
