REGISTER HERE 2020 POLICY AND BUDGET ADVOCACY TO PREVENT AND RECUCE YOUTH HOMELESSNESS 10:00-11:30AM TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH The first proposal would address the growing issue of homelessness among current foster youth by establishing a County Housing Supplement for THP-NMD. This supplement would augment the rate paid for THP-NMD based on Fair Market Rent (FMR), which is the system developed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to determine the allowable rent level for individuals who participate in their Housing Choice Voucher program. The second proposal would dedicate 10% of a one-time $2 billion housing investment to homeless youth. This approach was taken in 2018 and 2019, when 5 percent and 8 percent of one-time homelessness funding was dedicated to youth homelessness. Please join JBAY to learn more about these proposals, hear from proposal co-sponsors, provide your input and learn how to get involved.
