CLASSES FOR EVERYONE!! CLASSES FROM KINDERGARTEN

TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

° ADULTS—ALL AGES WELCOME

General Theme For This Quarter:

The study of this quarter is a survey of Old Testament wisdom literature, as well as an examination of Jesus’ teachings on wisdom.

We hope that you will join us as we are focusing on:

These five lessons examine Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and its rela tionship to the traditional teaching of Mosaic Law. The first four lessons, taken from Matthew 5 & 6, give attention to what Jesus says to disciples about living, forgiving, loving, and praying. The final lesson invites the participants to hear a new Jesus’ words about worryfree living.

THIS WEEK’S: “PRAYING AS GOD’S PEOPLE” Matthew 6:515

It is important to recognize and appreciate effective prayer, Jesus pre sents a model prayer that teaches how to pray effectively and inti mately to God.

We are in the season of KINGDOMTIDE, the color of KINGDOMTIDE is GREEN. The color GREEN symbolizes growth. The cloths on the Communion table and podium are changed to coincide with each season of the Christian calendar. KINGDOMTIDE runs from August 24 until Advent. KINGDOMTIDE is the newest of the seasons, dating no farther back than the late 1930’s. KINGDOMTIDE gives place for due attention to the eternal presence of Christ and His Kingship—with the parallel emphasis upon our stewardship. Its em phasis on the kingship of Christ and His kingdom, challenges us in our daily lives and in every area of our existence.

Prison Fellowship and designed to show the love of Christ to children whose parents are in prison by giving them gifts dur ing the Christmas season. All gifts (wrapped or unwrapped) are due on Sunday, December 4, 2011. Please do not include any special notes or cards be cause the gifts are labeled from their incarcerated par ent. A youth ministry representative will be available to col lect gifts after each service, Wednesday bible study, or you can leave them with the church secretary.

For more than one hundred years the NAACP has been the leading advocate for social justice and equality for people of color, and we can proudly boast such because of our Mem bers. Since 1909, the NAACP has been supported by count less members and has led the fight for freedom, justice, and equality. NAACP membership makes a positive differ ence in the lives of Americans.

While the NAACP has won many victories, the times ahead are critical. Membership helps to close the gaps in the stag gering statistics that so blatantly attest to the racial disparities in the United States. Our best hope for protecting the free dom of people and advancing the gains of the NAACP is by becoming a member, renewing memberships, and vowing to be more active, more vocal, and more visible. The NAACP needs you, please join today! Membership dues:

MOBC HOW TO ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST

INTO YOUR HEART

Perhaps while reading the announcements you realized you have never made a Christian commitment. Don’t delay that decision! We encourage you to embrace God’s love today and receive the salvation that only Jesus Christ gives. Here are five simple steps you can take to find assurance of salvation.

1. Recognize your need. The Bible tell us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23) All of us are sinners, and we must admit our need for a Savior.

2. Repent of your sins. Our sins create a wall that separates us from God. By con fessing our sins and turning from them, you will find forgiveness. The Bible prom ises: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

3. Believe in Jesus. God sent His only Son to die so that He could pay for all our sins. Put your faith in Him and believe in His power to save you. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

4. Receive His salvation. God has given us a great gift in His Son, but we must re ceive His gift. Thank Him for loving and forgiving you, and ask Him to live in your heart. His promise to us is clear: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

5. Confess your faith. The Bible assures us: “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom. 10:9). You have been born again and are now part of God’s family. Tell someone else what Jesus has done in your life!

ADOPTION WORKS …FOR EVERYONE

The fact is that with Adoption comes joy and challenges and always, blessings.

“But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were the law so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying “Abba! Father!”

How can I say “Thanks” for all the things you have done for me. Things I wasn’t deserv ing of, yet you still gave to prove your love for me. If I had the voices of a million angels, that would not be enough to express my gratitude. So, I Thank you Lord for all you have done for me. Thank you for waking me up this morning and providing me with strength for the day. Thank you for new day with brand new grace and mercy. Thank you for being my “right now” help in time of trouble and in any situation. Thank you that in my sickness – I am healed because of your stripes Thank you that in spite of lack or unemployment – Lord I’ll glorify you because all my needs are met and I do not want for any good thing. Thank you that whenever I am afraid – You will give me love, power, and a sound mind Thank you that when I “justdon’tknow” what to do – I’ll trust you to direct my path. And thank you that when I have doubt – I’ll call on you to help my unbelief

Lord I thank you for loving and keeping me in spite of my imperfections and for not turn ing your back on me. When I think about the things that “could have been”, Lord I thank you that they were not, so I say Thank You Lord for all you have done for me….
