The Michigan and Iowa game will be televised regionally
by ESPN on ABC. Any market not receiving the game on
their local ABC affiliate will receive the game on ESPN. Ron
Franklin will handle the play-by-play with Ed Cunningham
serving as the color analyst.
Radio Coverage
The Michigan Sports Network is comprised of 31 stations
and the game can be heard on satellite radio (channel
121 on Sirius and channel 141 on XM). Frank Beckmann
handles play-by-play with Jim Brandstatter serving as the
color analyst. Doug Karsch provides sideline reports andanalysis.
Wolverines and Hawkeyes
This will be the 56th meeting between Michigan and
Iowa. The Wolverines hold a 40-11-4 lead in the all-time
series, and have a 21-4-3 mark at Michigan Stadium (22-
5-3 all-time in Ann Arbor). Michigan has won eight of the
last 10 games in the series. Head coach Rich Rodriguez is
0-1 against the Hawkeyes.
National Polls
Michigan is ranked in the top 25 of the national polls
the fifth consecutive week. The Wolverines are ranked
24th in the USA Today Coaches’ poll and received 137
votes in the Associated Press media poll to list just ou
the top 25 (26th). Iowa is 14th in the coaches poll and
15th in the AP. U-M returned to the top 25 after its 28
victory at Notre Dame (Sept. 11).

The ootball program is in its 84th season in the "Big House" in 2010, with a 383-18-15 all-time record at Michigan Stadium. The largest college ootball stadium inhe country, it was completed in 1927 at a cost o $950,000, initially seating 72,000
ans. Michigan won the irst game played at Michigan Stadium, deeating OhioWesleyan, 33-0, on Oct. 1, 1927. The stadium was oicially dedicated on Oct. 22,
927, with a 21-0 shutout over Ohio State.Since that inaugural season, the capacity o Michigan Stadium has increased
ine times to its present 109,901. The Wolverines have led the nation in attendance5 times in the past 36 years, and reestablished the NCAA single-game atten-ance record at 113,090 ans against Connecticut during the 2010 rededication o
Michigan Stadium. The previous makr was 112,118 ans during the 2003 Ohio Stateame, 100th game in the storied rivalry.
Michigan has drawn crowds o 100,000-plus or 227 consecutive games. On oot-all Saturdays in Ann Arbor, Michigan Stadium ranks as the ourth-largest "city" in
he state o Michigan, surpassing the population o Ann Arbor itsel.Michigan Stadium was the only college-owned ootball acility with a video
coreboard above both end zones. I t was also the irst stadium to use electroniccoreboards or oicial time when, in 1930, two were installed.
APACITY: 109,901 -- the largest college-owned structures o its kind designed solelyor ootball -- closer to the playing ield with no running track -- no posts orother obstructions.
OMPLETION: 1927 --- at a cost in excess o $950,000 to seat 72,000 spectators.Capacity raised to 84,401 by addition o temporary wooden bleachers until1949 when permanent steel stands replaced the wooden bleachers, increas-ing the capacity to 97,239. Seating capacity then raised to 101,001 in 1956,101,701 in 1973, 102,501 in 1992 and 107,501 in 1998.
IRST GAME: October 1, 1927 -- Michigan led by Captain Bennie Oosterbaan, deeatedOhio Wesleyan, 33-0. LaVerne (Kip) Taylor, Michigan end, scored irst in the sta-dium on a 28-yard pass rom halback Louis Gilbert.
DEDICATION GAME: October 22, 1927 -- Michigan deeated Ohio State, 21-0.EDEDICATION GAME: September 4, 2010 -- Michigan deeated Connecticut, 30-10.
ATTENDANCE: Since 1927 -- 43,267,649 ans have watched the Wolverines play 515games. Stadium attendance record o 106,982 set Nov. 22, 1997 against OhioState. Since expansion o the “Big House” in 1998, the single-game attendance
record is 112,118 set against Ohio State on Nov. 22, 2003. NCAA season recordo 745,139 set in 1997.
IELD: 360 x 160 eet -- Installed new FieldTur in 2010. The original FieldTur suracewas installed in 2003, returning Michigan to an artiicial surace or the irsttime since the 1990 season. Installed Prescription Athletic Tur in 1991, givingMichigan its irst natural grass ield since 1968. Field was also lowered 3-1/2eet allowing better sightlines or those seated in the lower rows.

Rich Rodriguez is in his third season as head coach o the
nation’s all-time winningest ootball program. Rodriguez was
announced as the 18th head coach in U-M ootball history on
Dec. 17, 2007. He is just the 11th head coach in the 107 years
since Fielding H. Yost made his debut in 1901.
Rodriguez arrived at Michigan ater spending seven years
as head coach at West Virginia University where he led the
Mountaineers to a 60-26 record, our Big East titles and six
consecutive bowl game bids. In 2005, he was named to the
American Football Coaches Association Board o Trustees.
Following a 10-2 (5-2 Big East) season in 2007 in which his
team won the Big East title and a BCS berth, Rodriguez was
named the AFCA Region I co-Coach o the Year, sharing the
honor with Boston College’s Je Jagodzinski. It
was Rodriguez’s second such honor ater being
recognized by the AFCA in 2003. He was a inal-
ist or the 2007 Liberty Mutual Coach o the Year
Award, which honors the college ootball coaches
who best exempliy responsibility and excellence
on and o the ield. Rodriguez was also the 2003
and 2005 Big East Coach o the Year.
Under Rodriguez’s guidance, WVU claimed our
Big East championships in ive years (2003, ‘04,
‘05, ‘07) and recorded three consecutive sea-
sons (2005-07) with double-digit victories or
the irst time in school history. The Mountaineers
recorded at least eight wins in each o his last six
seasons, and rom 2002-07, accumulated a record
o 57-16, winning 78.1 percent o their games.
In 2006, the Mountaineers inished 10th in
the national polls at 11-2 behind a pair o All-
Americans and the Big East Player o the Year.
In 2004 and 2005, Rodriguez’s teams claimed
conerence titles, as the 2005 squad went on to
record WVU’s irst BCS victory, a 38-35 upset over
Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
The Mountaineers rattled o seven straight
wins in 2003 to post a 6-1 mark in conerence
play and tie Miami or the Big East title, while earning
ond straight bowl berth. In 2002, Rodriguez engineere
greatest turn-around in Big East history, taking his 2001
rom a 1-6 record in league play to 6-1 the ollowing year

ypg) and ranked ourth nationally in turnover margin.
Prior to accepting the West Virginia job on Nov. 26,
Rodriguez served as oensive coordinator and associate
coach or Tommy Bowden at Clemson in 1999 (6-6) and
(9-3). He spent the previous two years, 1997 and ’98, as
sive coordinator and quarterbacks coach or Bowden at T
where he helped lead the Green Wave to a 19-4 mark. A
