In its created state, everything that God made was “very good.” (Genesis 2:7-3:2) The world is stained by sin, and every person is a sinner. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23) The wages (Romans 6:23) for sin is death. Because of sin, every person deserves the penalty of physical death and eternal judgment. (Romans 6:23) Because he loves us, God the Father sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to receive the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross. (John 3:16; Romans 8:1- 11) Every person who turns to Christ in repentance and receives him as Savior and Lord will receive forgiveness for their sins and eternal life in heaven with God. For a listing of classes, please stop by our Connections Center. We have Bibles for Everyone We want everyone to have their own copy of God’s Word. You are welcome to use the Bible in the pew rack. Bibles are available at no charge at the Connections Center. We Provide Child Care We offer extended care for children from birth through age 4 in our preschool area and Children’s Worship for ages 3 (need to be potty trained) - grade 4. The church office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday. You may call the church office any time at 254-865- 2014. Bind Up The BrokenheartedThe truth of Christmas may never unfold in our homes because it is crowded out by miscellaneous actions and attitudes that stand at odds with Christmas.We are preparing our hearts for Christmas this year. We are thinking about the condition of heart that makes room for the King. We are examining some things that try to steal the truth of Christmas. And we are fi nding alternatives that invite the Savior into our hearts and our homes.Grief is a natural and important human experience. We grieve our losses because we love others and we love life. Sorrow comes as we lose those we love and as we lose a way of life we once knew.Grief is not the ultimate reality for any age group among the followers of the Messiah. Today we revisit the passage of proclamation, Isaiah 61, and discover how we can cooperate with Christ in the healing of our broken hearts.
