Introducing Faxination 2016, a significant evolution of the product, turning Faxination into a true Digital Business Platform.

Our new 360 CAPTURE technology allows you to digitize physical documents and perform intelligent routing to any Faxination supported application (with no phone lines, SIP trunks, or fax devices required).

Faxination 2016 includes several new application connectors, including a new programming interface, and a connector specific to the healthcare industry.

Our highly-optimized platform includes new administrative tools to ensure that your Faxination environment is always running at peak efficiency.

Lets look at some of these new capabilities and features in detail.2

The MFP Connector

Enhanced for Faxination 2016, the new MFP Connector now allows you to scan documents directly to any application supported by Faxination.

Traditionally, the MFP Connector is used to scan physical documents and send them as faxes through Faxination. This is accomplished by monitoring the UNC path where the MFP is configured to write the outgoing faxes.

In Faxination 2016, our new and enhanced MFP Connector can monitor multiple UNC paths, and each UNC path can have a unique application destination. The number of UNC paths that you can monitor is limited only by the capabilities of the MFP device itself, and any inbound-capable Faxination application connector can be configured as the destination. This is just one example of the 360 CAPTURE technology.3

The Mailbox Connector

Monitor one or more Exchange/Office 365 mailbox folders and route detected file attachments to any Faxination-supported application.

The Mailbox Connector is new for Faxination 2016 and dedicated exclusively to 360 CAPTURE. The Mailbox Connector monitors one or more email folders within an Exchange or Office 365 mailbox, and then routes the file attachments of new emails to any application supported by Faxination.

Any mailbox folder or subfolder can be monitored, but its recommended to use mailbox-based filtering rules to move new email messages into subfolders based on your own criteria, then have the Mailbox Connector monitor those subfolders. Each subfolder represents a unique application route within Faxination. There is no limit to the number of mailbox folders or subfolders that you can monitor, and only a single mailbox is required for this feature which is important for hosted email environments such as Office 365.

The REST Connector

Provides an alternative programmatic interface for developers, using standard HTTP methods such as GET, PUT, and POST. You can write powerful REST Connector scripts in any text editor, and sample scripts are provided.

Also new for Faxination 2016 is the REST Connector. It provides an alternative programmatic interface for developers using standard HTTP methods, with no custom APIs or DLLs required. Compared to the Faxination Web Service Connector, REST programming is more lightweight and easily scriptable. Fully commented sample scripts are provided.

The HL7 Connector

Developed specifically for the healthcare industry, the HL7 Connector uses the HL7 protocol, which is a worldwide standard for the secure exchange of medical information between healthcare systems. The HL7 Connector extends healthcare workflows to include fax and mobile messages, as well as other applications through 360 CAPTURE.

It uses the HL7 protocol, which is a worldwide standard for the secure exchange of medical information between various healthcare systems. Now that Faxination speaks HL7, it can be integrated easily into any healthcare workflow.

System Monitoring

Weve added a new system monitoring feature that can send a test message through Faxination on a configured schedule. Alerts can be triggered when a test message notification is not received within a specified period of time, thus ensuring that the application connectors, the kernel, the queue, the transport devices, and the telephony system, are all functioning properly.Application ConnectorsTransportDevices

System Management

The Faxination Management Portal now supports domain authentication based on Active Directory security groups, and three levels of access from Global Administrator to View-Only.

ATNA Logging

The ATNA Logging feature writes transaction log information to a local or remote ATNA service. ATNA is an acronym for Audit Trail and Node Authentication and is a variant of Syslog that is unique to the healthcare industry. Due to privacy concerns in healthcare, ATNA defines specific security requirements including authentication certificates and TLS encryption.

High-Availability Cluster Synchronization

A new feature of Faxination 2016 is high-availability cluster synchronization. In active/passive and load-balanced environments with multiple Faxination kernel nodes, this synchronization feature automatically ensures that each node has the same kernel configuration. This is a big time saver for your Faxination administrators, and eliminates the potential of human error through manual synchronization.

Syslog Support

Syslog support has been added to the Faxination Trace Tool, allowing you to redirect the trace information to a listening Syslog daemon (remote or on-premise). When a Syslog daemon does not exist, traditional mailslot tracing can still be used.

Updated Trace Tool

For the first time, you can highlight and copy information directly from the Trace Tool buffer to the Windows clipboard. You can also assign processing threads to specific display colors, making them easier to follow in the trace data.

And finally, weve optimized our traces to reduce superfluous and redundant information, making the data both more concise and easier to read.
