Favorite Hymns for Piano Today's Hymns and Songs 2 for piano
Transcript of Favorite Hymns for Piano Today's Hymns and Songs 2 for piano
Foreword“What is YOUR favorite hymn?” I am often asked that
question. My answer is occasionally vague, because I count
many hymns as my “favorites.” In putting together this col-
lection, I am trying to give a more definitive answer. At the
very least, I can say, ALL of these hymns are the most
favored among my favorites.
However, one hymn in particular stands out — that is
“When Morning Gilds the Skies.” Most mornings when I sit
down at the piano to write, I play through several stanzas of
that hymn. It isn’t just the tune that attracts me; the text
stands as my credo for all the music writing I do: “May Jesus
Christ be praised!”
Hopefully, as you consider this collection you will find
one or more of these hymns to be YOUR favorites, and that
you will look forward to sharing them with your congrega-
tion.
Grace and Peace
