JUNE 16, 2019 THE MOST HOLY TRINITY OUR MISSION STATEMENT We connue the work of Jesus Christ, to Unleash the Gospel and help everyone seek and experience the love and mercy of God. Rev. The Season of Easter has ended and Ordinary Time began. It will continue until the First Sunday of Advent in November. During that time, the Church continues to celebrate our Lords Resurrection, but its application to our earthly lives. Ordinary Time unfolds Sunday by Sunday bereft of any celebration, except for a few feasts or devotions of Saints. It is characterized by two themes: that of the Sunday and that of the Church. Every Sunday is a little weekly Easter just as Easter is a great annual Sunday. Sunday is the day on which we celebrate the victory of Jesus through His cross. With great joy and faith, we celebrate the deed of the Resurrection, and at the same time, Jesus gathers us around Him, present among His own, who have come together to listen to His word and celebrate His Eucharist. We become filled with the desire for Jesus final coming in glory. This Season also introduces us to a special way into the Mystery of the Church, which was born on the day of Pentecost and is laboriously built up in our history. Ordinary time is giving us the opportunity to grow in the Faith with all who attend Sunday Liturgies. The Holy Spirit will facilitate our growth in our relationship with God and with each other. It is important for all of us to consciously participate in the Mass by performing appropriate gestors, singing, responding to the Celebrant and having the spirit of welcoming to the person sitting next to you. Besides Sunday Masses, I am encouraging you to observe the First Friday and the First Saturday of the month, every Thursday Divine Mercy Devotions, and seek Reconciliation. During that time, we are going to have the ALPHA Program that will be led by Mr. Gary Zilli and those who will participate. We are going to have the Rummage Sale and a par- ish event (formerly our picnic/festival). I am recommending calling this event Heart and Soul”. RCIA will begin in September. If you know of someone interested in becoming Catholic or continuing the program please contact us. Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers of the Parish and get ready for Corpus Christi next weekend. Father Bogdan’s Corner Last Sunday we celebrated Pentecost. The Season of Easter has ended and Ordinary Time began. It will continue until the First Sunday of Advent in November. During that time, the Church continues to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection, but its application to our earthly lives. Ordinary Time unfolds Sunday by Sunday bereft of any celebration, except for a few feasts or devotions of Saints. It is characterized by two themes: that of the Sunday and that of the Church. We become filled with the desire for Jesus’ final coming in glory. Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers of the Parish and get ready for Corpus Christi next weekend.

God Bless,

Open Door Policy Podcast

Open Door Policy is a podcast hosted by Fr. Steve Pullis, the Director of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools for the Archdiocese of Detroit and Danielle Center, a parishioner of St. Augustine and St. Monica Parish.

In each episode, Fr. Steve and Danielle are joined by guests from across the Archdiocese of Detroit who are living as joyful missionary disciples. Guests share their personal testimonies, their stories of encountering Jesus Christ and their decisions to follow Him. They also talk about Unleash the Gospel, the pastoral letter from Archbishop Vigneron that describes how God is calling us to join a movement to transform the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Listen to the podcast on the Archdiocese of Detroit’s website. Go to opendoorpolicy.aod.org.

Be sure to follow @UTGDetroit on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and join the movement to renew our world, our region and our Church.

Ladies Bible Study

Our Ladies Bible Study, “Opening Your Heart” is almost finished. Since January, we have met nearly twenty times, learning to read the Bible, discussing subjects such as prayer, grace, and forgiveness, and reading about saints. We have prayed for each other's intentions, listened to each other’s struggles and triumphs, and laughed with each other on many occasions. Sandy and I have greatly enjoyed connecting with you as sisters in God's family.

Please watch the parish website https://stfaustinawarren.org, the bulletin, and our Facebook page for

future Bible study announcements, and God bless you all!

Ronnie Gietzen and Sandy Acord

St. Faustina’s Seniors Club will meet on Thursday, June 20th at noon. Come join us. There is a chair waiting for you!

It is our summer picnic.

May your troubles be less and your blessings be more; and nothing but happiness come through your door.

Father’s Day Prayer

God our Father, You govern and protect your people

and shepherd them with a father’s love. You place a father in a family

as a sign of your love, care, and constant protection. May fathers everywhere be faithful

to the example shown in the Scriptures; steadfast in love, forgiving transgressions,

sustaining the family, caring for those in need. Give your wisdom to fathers

that they may encourage and guide their children. Keep them healthy so they may support a family.

Guide every father with the Spirit of your love that they may grow in holiness

and draw their family ever closer to you. Amen

CYO Summer Camp Looking for a great camp along the shores of a great lake? The Catholic Youth Organization for the Archdiocese of Detroit (http://www.cyocamps.org) offers a traditional summer camp opportunity for kids and families with an infusion of the Catholic faith right along the shores of Lake Huron. This summer’s theme is 'Be His Light,' and through programs and events campers will learn how to be a light in the world for Jesus Christ and how faith impacts their lives, their relationship with God, and each other. CYO camps are centered on character development and virtues, which are naturally supported by the atmosphere of camp. The adult counselors and leaders are good role models who help teach the campers cooperation, communication and teamwork as part of the daily life at camp. The CYO camps start June 30 and run through Aug. 3. Campers can attend mini – four-day, three-night programs, week-long programs or one of the specialty camps that runs for seven-days and six-nights. Camp is open to kids ages 7-16. During the first four weeks, the CYO camps will have co-ed and boys-only programs. The remainder of the summer will be all-girls programming. The CYO camps are the only Catholic camps that offer all-girl programs. The Catholic Youth Organization also aims to make the programs affordable for all campers. There are early registration, multi-session and multi-sibling discounts, as well as scholarships for campers. The CYO Boys Camp is located in Carsonville, Michigan and just a few miles up the road North of Port Sanilac is the CYO Girls Camp. Both properties are on the beautiful sandy shores of Lake Huron. For more information on the Catholic Youth Organization camps, including registration information, visit the CYO Camps website http://www.cyocamps.org/.

Growing Faith...Engaging Hearts

We are trying to identify all of our first grade students for registration for the 2019-2020 religious education class. First grade is a required pre-requisite for the second grade Sacraments of First Reconciliation and Eucharist. If you have a current kindergartener, please stop by the Religious Education Office. You can also call me at 586-773-9220 or send an email to [email protected] for class and registration information. Religious education classes will resume in September. If you did not receive a registration form for the 2019-2020, please stop by my office. Register early so you can get a discount! God Bless, Sandy Acord

The Most Holy Trinity - three Persons in one God - fittingly links today’s Scripture readings. The Book of Proverbs speaks of “Wisdom,” which we identify as the Holy Spirit. St. Paul’s Letter to the Roman community refers to aspects of the Trinity that fortify us and offer us hope. In the Gospel from St. John, Jesus stresses that His disciples will fully comprehend all truth when they obtain the “Spirit of Truth.” Christian stewards remember the Trinity when they make the sign of the cross: In the name of the Father, our loving Creator; and of the Son, our loving Redeemer; and of the Holy Spirit, our loving Transformer. Amen. Allow this holy act to solidify your witness as a Christian, deepen your personal relationship with Christ, and move you to follow His directives to love God and neighbor.
