Look behind the bar at one store in K11, Shanghai, and you’ll spot an eye- catching white, robotic arm. This is the RATIO robo-barista, and it’s revo- lutionising both coffee and cocktails in equal measure. RATIO takes coffee automation and personalisation to new heights. Customers use the highly popular messaging app ‘WeChat’ to order a drink exactly how they’d like it. For coffee, users can modify the amount and type of espresso, milk, foam and even the sweetness. For cocktails, users can tweak each element of their drink and even how it’s mixed. RATIO is a concept built on connecti- vity. This is where Eversys steps in. Behind the robot arm sits an e’4m connected to the WeChat app. When a customer makes their choice, the Eversys machine creates the drink to their exact specification in seconds. The arm then quickly collects the drink from the machine and safely passes it to the customer. Gavin Pathross, founder of RATIO, said: “We needed a fully automatic machine that ticked three key boxes. Maintenance. It had to be simple to use and maintain to prevent down- time. Exceptional. want quicker than ever. It’s an exciting prospect.”
