What does organic mean? Te National Organic Standards Board

adopted this denition in April 1995. Organic agriculture is anecological production management system that promotes and enhancesbiodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. It is basedon minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices thatrestore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony.

While many consumers recognize the Certied Organic label, you maynot be familiar with the particular farming practices and methods alsobeing certied. Additionally, many farmers use a variety of sustainablepractices but choose not to be certied.
