FAQ for Tutors
How do I find out when I can start working? You can start working as soon as you are booked for tutoring appointments. It
is your responsibility to complete all UTP and HR paperwork. Please note: you will not be able to log your hours or be paid until your HR paperwork has been completed and processed.
YES, YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THREE SESSION VERIFICATIONS.
1. Blue time cards are for individual appointments, green time cards
are for group tutoring. Questions about signatures? See the digital
version of Orientation at Hofstra.edu/UTP.
2. E-time can be accessed through your portal in “My Apps.” You can only
stamp in and stamp out on Hofstra computers that are hard-wired. You
must stamp in and out before and after your appointments. (Only do E-
time if UTP is your only or primary job. If you do not see E-time, you
must go to the HR Office/Office of Student Employment.)
3. Go to your schedule on TutorTrac and mark “Attended” or “Missed” in
the “Appointment Status” bar. (Please note: Group Tutoring sessions do
not require this step.)
HOW DO I CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?
In order to cancel an appointment, you need to call the UTP office
(516)463-4953. You also need to get in touch with the student to reschedule
the appointment. Remember, if you have to cancel within less than 24 hours
advanced notice, it will count as a No-Show.
HOW DO I SEE MY SCHEDULE?
First, click on the box called “Consultant Profile” at the top of the screen. In
order to see your tutoring schedule, go to TutorTrac —> Main Menu —>
Access Your Schedule and choose “University Tutorial Program” for Center
Profile.

After you get the notice that it has been graded, you can put it on that
week’s time card as “Module [#_], Module [name], 1 hour,” and date
you completed it.
In-Person Training Modules (Workshops)
At the workshop, you will receive an assignment
When you complete this assignment, hand it in with your time card
Indicate the module on the time card as “Session [name], 1 hour,” and
date you attended the workshop.
