Watering with Capillary action – Water Wick
The Keystone Gardens water wicks work thoughcapillary action – when one end is saturated and theother end is dry it creates a moisture gradient whichdrives the wick until the moisture gradient no longerexists or you run out of water.
Just like putting a tissue into a glass of water andwatching it soak above the level of the water.In the case of a pot plant suspended over a reservoir ofwater, a dangling wick will lift the water into the potplant.As the plant uses the water in the soil it creates amoisture gradient, (i.e. the soil is drier than thereservoir) which drives the moisture through the wickto the soil.
