A Little Lockdown Story…

Once upon a time, on a beautiful sunny day, Mrs Perry and Miss Thomas were feeling a little sad

because they were missing all the lovely children in their classes very much. Suddenly, they

looked at their emails and were delighted to find messages and photos from lots of children.

Juno had been role playing, Owen done some amazing drawings, and Vincent had become an

expert gardener! Clara had developed an interest in the solar system, Ella had been making

shapes, George had been doing brilliant work every single day and Jessie had done lots of lovely

activities and even had a new baby sister!

Ellie had been creating the solar system and Francis had been helping his daddy to build a wall,

Jacob had been looking for bugs and Ted had been busy making a model of the Tor. Freddie B.

had even asked his mummy and daddy for a hamster! (Happily, they said “yes!”) Charlie had been

busy building a den in his garden and Freddie F. had been building a police station with his Lego.

Matilda had been on VERY long walks and bike rides and Max and Arthur had been busy labelling

plants. Poppy had been enjoying walks and Isla had been doing ballet. What fantastic “worker

bees”- our own little Helmshore Home Heroes! We’re so proud of them all and hope they all live

“happily ever after”.

Our Year 1 Helmshore Home Heroes …

Miss Morton and Mr Gaffney have been blown away by all your lovely work! You

certainly know how to bake - we’ve had some pictures of some delicious cakes sent

in. Well done for measuring out all the ingredients. We’ve been really impressed

with your Maths – there is some super addition and subtraction going on within

Year 1. Well done for trying to learn the time and making different 3D shapes.

Hasn’t everyone’s handwriting improved! We’ve been very pleased with all your

lovely writing – there have been some fabulous posters, stories, description and

instructions.

It’s great to see you have been spending lots of time in the garden enjoying the

sunshine. We’ve got our fingers crossed that the good weather comes back again!

Please keep emailing these lovely examples in!

Hope to hear from you all again soon!

Year 4 ‘Helmshore Home Heroes’ We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 ‘Helmshore Home Heroes’. It’s great to hear that you

are accessing work from the packs and Purple Mash but also enjoying new skills such as: sewing,

gardening, baking and craft. We love the variety of work and fun activities and we want you to

know we want you to be doing both. Relaxing and finding time for things you enjoy is just as

important as work. It’s been lovely to hear from you and see your work. Please keep it coming.

We are very proud of you all!

We thought we would share some of the lovely pictures we have received with you all to

keep us all connected and perhaps you may be inspired by someone else’s creativity and

ideas! We have seen some lovely Amazon Rainforest projects, some examples of superb

artwork, mouth-watering home baking and some wonderful photographs evidencing very

thoughtful acts of kindness – we are very proud of each and every one of you!

Here is a selection of some of your photographs:

Year 6 We are really impressed with our Y6 ‘Helmshore Home Heroes’, who have been keeping in contact; sharing photos and work

with us. It can be difficult to get motivated in ordinary circumstances, so we are especially impressed that you have been

keeping in a good work routine with your home learning during these strange times – very well done! It is also really important

to strike a balance between work and play to take care of your emotional well-being, so it has been lovely to see photos of

the many activities you enjoy doing to unwind and relax. We have received lots of lovely messages with well wishes showing

your kind, thoughtful nature and you have been showing your support for local charities and our NHS staff and key workers

who continue to do amazing work.

We are so proud of you all, Year 6!

Mrs Haworth & Mrs Kelly
