Family violenceFamily violence or domestic violence is the mistreatment of one family member by another to obtain power or control. Violence affects everyone in the family not just the victim. Moreover, children who grow up in violent homes greatly risk the possibility of having emotional, physical, and behavioral problems that could last for a lifetime. Fortunately, we have some solutions that will help us to face this societal problem.

One solution could be launching campaigns to create social awareness about violence. The purpose of this would be to teach people that it is wrong to be physically, sexually, verbally or emotionally abused. Besides, any abuser should be punished. This information would cause a change in the way of thinking of the audience, as a result, it would reduce the family violence rate.

Another solution could be promote counselors for victims and their families. Moreover, victims can be provided with shelters, which they may go to during this critical periods. As a result, this new conditions for this people would prevent that new attacks can happen in the future. Moreover, abused people would increase their self-esteem and would change their behavior for better.All things considered, domestic violence is a societal problem that must be solved. Besides, considering that family is the nucleus of society, we have to protect all their endangered members. Nowadays, apart from professional assistance, people who are close to a victim have in their hands many ways to support them and help them to improve their future living conditions.
