Having watched the video presentation, what do you now

think family planning is?

It is the serious planning of the family and its future.

It is more than preventing pregnancy, though that is a part of family planning.

Like everything in life, we have to plan. What are some things that we plan for?

We plan our meals; the school that we want to attend; what we want to wear to church or To a party.

We plan how we are going to spend our money.

In the same way that we make plans for our regular, daily activities, so it is that we MUST put in placeplans for having a family.

When should we start planning for a family?

Right now!!

What we do now will determine the type offamily that we willhave in the future.

family – how many

children parents will have

that they can properly take

care of;

2. Planning for the education of the children of the family – making sure that ALL the children get a good education or acquire a skill so that they

can look after themselves when they are older.

3. Planning for retirement when you can no longer work and your children are on their own.

4. Spending quality time with family members so that they feel loved and appreciated.

This quality time is importantas it will build trust and friend-

ship between parents and children.

5. Planning your career goals –

making sure that you uplift

yourself academically.

To many Children? How do youprevent this?

6. Using contraceptives to prevent unwanted pregnancy – this ensures that you do not have children that you cannot take care of.

To limit the size of the family, certain birth control methods or contraceptives can be used. These include:
