1See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. 11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

We are children of God

Our identity = children of God

World does not know us = aliens in this world

we’ll be tomorrow (Matt 6:33-34)

- Truth we know = we shall be like Christ

- Live one day at a time by faith and obedience to Christ

Love one another = sign that we have passed from death to life

Love = Christ died for us = Cross

Love = we lay down our lives/sacrifice for brothers and sisters

Steps to take this year 2015?

Born again and mind being renewed - Action a NO that that has been blocking you from Christ

Our identity is that we are children of God- Work on an area you have struggled to believe God’s love

Family of God culture is that we walk in the Light- Identify any sin and repent

Family of God loves one another- Make effort to love someone you couldn’t love/forgive
