June 2017

Hotline calls and investigations received increased the first two months and thendeclined significantly in June.

Removals trended down all three months with June resulting in the lowestremoval rate in the past 3 years.

Out-of-home care placements have increased 8.6% since June 2016. During thattime, licensed placements decreased 7.4% while relative/non-relative placementsincreased 25.1%.

Since June 2016, foster home placements decreased 13.5% but group homeplacements increased 19.4% (although group home placements trended downsharply in June).

The performance measure targets have been met or exceeded for the followingmeasures:◦ Children under supervision seen every 30 days◦ Rate of abuse or neglect per day while in out-of-home care◦ Children achieving permanency in 12 months for children in out-of-home care 12 to 23

months◦ Adoption finalizations for the 2016-2017 state fiscal year◦ Children in out-of-home care who received medical services within the last 12 months◦ Young adults who aged out of foster care who have completed or are enrolled in secondary

education, vocational training, or adult education

There has been a net loss of 44 traditional foster home beds since June 30, 2016. As of 6/30/2017, there are 286 traditional foster homes with a total capacity of

586 beds in Circuit One.
