A MESSAGE FROM FOUNDATION PRESIDENT ZACHARIAS

We follow our members and all the accomplishments and successes they are experiencing. Join us!

BECOME ASTARPARTNER

• STARTING AT $3,000 • YOUR LOGO/ADS IN OUR PUBLICATIONS AND ANNUAL MAGAZINE• CAREER FAIR ACCESS• BE SEEN AT THE ND STATE FFA CONVENTION

On behalf of the ND FFA Foundation Board of Directors, I would like to thank all of our sponsors and supporters. Funds received by the Foundation allow many students the financial assistance to enhance their education. Wow! We also extend our “congratulations” to all North Dakota FFA Members, advisors and staff representing the ND FFA Association at the National FFA Convention. We witnessed so many great results and accomplishments including 48 ND members receiving their American FFA Degrees.

As we look forward, 2018 has a bright future with a lot in store.

In January, we’ll be awarding more than 260 jackets from generous donors who gave to the Blue Jackets Bright Futures program and we are also awarding over $30,000 in SAE grants to members to start or expand their SAE projects.

February ushers in scholarship applications for both National FFA and the ND FFA Foundation college scholarships. Funding for foundation scholarships was made available in 2006 when the ND FFA Foundation was gifted farmland from a trust by Fridjov Bakk. This farmland and trust make many programs we fund possible, including: Beginning and Expansion SAE Grants, college scholarships for deserving ND FFA members and tuition grants for clients in the ND Farm Business Management program.

In February, remember to help celebrate Giving Hearts Day on February 8, 2018. Join thousands around the world as they give to their favorite ND nonprofits by visiting GivingHeartsDay.org. We are looking for individuals and companies who would be willing to act as match fund donors at $500 or more for this great initiative. Please contact the ND FFA if you are able to help.

Lastly, as you begin your holiday season don’t forget to shop at Smile.Amazon.com. This is another easy way to pledge your support to the ND FFA Foundation and remember the ND FFA Endowment when planning your end of the year giving. The very best to all of you for a wonderful holiday season and thank you for your continued support!

HONORARY AMERICAN FFA DEGREE RECIPIENTSThe ND FFA Association was proud to nominate four outstanding ND FFA supporters and advocates for agricultural education for the Honorary American FFA Degree. This year we celebrate the following recipients:

Larry Ulrich of Elgin currently serves as a member of the Cannonball FFA Alumni and as the ND State FFA Alumni Secretary/Treasurer; Mike Kamrath, agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at Washburn; JoDee Free, a past agricultural education and FFA advisor in Gackle/Streeter and Central Cass before assuming the position of Assistant Supervisor of Agricultural Education and the Assistant ND FFA Advisor for the ND FFA Association; and Mike Axt, the agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at McClusky. Mike has both a son and daughter who now teach agricultural education in ND.

The ND FFA extends our sincerest and deepest congratulations to the 2017 class of Honorary American FFA Degree recipients and thanks them for their continued commitment to FFA and agricultural education!

The ND FFA Foundation received a donation of $5,000 from TransCanada in October. The funds will be used to award community service grants to ND FFA chapters to conduct service projects throughout the state. In 2016, funds from the TransCanada Living to Serve Grants helped FFA chapters conduct projects from

improvement of county fairgrounds and parks to the construction of items to improve handicap accessibility. “We are very grateful to TransCanada for their obvious commitment to community and are happy they have chosen the ND FFA as a partner for such valuable projects,” says Aaron Anderson, the ND State FFA Advisor and Treasurer of the ND FFA Foundation. “Donations like these are instrumental in helping the FFA fulfill our motto, ‘Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve’. Opportunities like these transfer into lifetime lessons in philanthropy and service.”

The ND FFA Foundation received a donation of $35,000 from Dakota Access Pipeline, LLC in October. The funds will be used to benefit local youth throughout the state with specific funds dedicated to benefit the youth of fourteen North Dakota FFA Chapters. The $35,000 will be distributed to the chapters within the seven counties which the pipeline traverses and also statewide via ND FFA Foundation programs. In an effort to support youth programs in counties along the entire four-state pipeline route, Dakota Access will be making similar donations in South Dakota, Iowa and Illinois, and did the same for 4-H clubs from each county.“We are very thankful the Dakota Access Pipeline is taking an active approach to support North Dakota FFA,” says Tamra Maddock, the Executive Director of the ND FFA Foundation. “Generous donations like these allow us to continue to do what we do: Benefit the lives of FFA members right here in our great state of North Dakota.”

FOUR DECADES OF

Northland Ford DealersBuyFordNow.com

It’s not luck. And it isn’t coincidence. Since 1977, F-150 and Super Duty® have been the best-selling trucks for some veryreal and hardcore reasons: Rock-solid durability. Cutting-edge technology. And jaw-dropping capability. Leading the way for

40 straight years is grueling, intense and tough.

Yeah. Just the way F-Series likes it.
